Black and Latino Education: History and Policy

Recommended: EDCI776; and completion of EDSP611 recommended. Credit only granted for: EDCI786 or TLPL770. Formerly: EDCI786. Examination of the historical legacies and contemporary policies that have contributed to the educational status (K-20) of Blacks and Latinos in the United States from the 19th century to the present. Issues surrounding language, immigration, racism, social class, and state and federal policies will also be analyzed.
