Honestly, she's not a good professor. She doesn't allow any resubmissions, any late work, requires apa format, and requires attendance. Ironically enough, she cancelled class several times this semester, and when this class only meets once a week, the cancelled classes led to many lectures feeling incredibly rushed. She canceled our last class, when we were supposed to present our final presentations and get instructions on our LiveText submission, but since the class was cancelled, every student was really confused about LiveText since the instructions were so unclear. The lectures were also extremely disconnected from our placements, and she told us several times she had no idea where we were placed and what age group we were placed with. The journal entry assignments and reflections don't connect to our placement observations, and several of the observation/schema assessments didn't work for every age group we were placed with. Our grades were incredibly behind the entire semester so no one knew what their grade was until after the last week of class. She can be funny, and is generally chatty and pleasant in lecture, but she's frustrating to work with as a student.

Loved this professor because she was funny and relatable, and altered the class assignments to make it easier for this semester. This class is a lot of work by design because of the students' teaching. I didn't mind her standards like other people in the reviews because it's just part of college and the professional program. There is so much overlap with other courses taken at this time for early edu majors (EDHD425 and EDHD314), so we all zoned out with repeated content. The class is so incredibly long, and no one's attention span is 3 hours...Nothing to do with the professor, more with the program.

She sucks. No resubmissions, attendance required, apa format, I cannot stand her lol. I had her last semester and she was nice and funny but I think somebody higher up had to talk to her about being less inappropriate bc now she has a stick up her butt most of the time (and she mentioned something about having to be more strict I cant exactly remember) if you have the option, please do not take here. the mountain of coursework is insane not to mention student teaching

i had her freshman year (i was the very first review on here) and I HATED HER. I'm now in my junior year and shes my absolute favorite. she genuinely cares about her students success and makes her classes (for the most part) fun and engaging. I'm excited to take her next sem.

The content of the class itself was not the most interesting to me, but she was a very nice professor and made sure to give us lots of breaks during the 3-hour class. Online, multiple-choice midterm and final, and not too many other assignments. Overall a pretty easy class, but not the most engaging

Professor Amilivia was a nice professor. She is willing to help her students and make appointments to meet with them. The content of the class is just bad ( which I know isn't necessarily her fault). Many classes were just her lecturing about legislation, which was very boring. Additionally, she canceled classes frequently because she had to observe her interns. While it was nice not having class, I do feel as though it made it hard to remember content when this class only meets once a week. Our midterm and final were open notes and internet, however, some of the questions were a little tricky. Overall, I liked having Professor Amilivia, but the class itself was very boring, especially for an introduction to the special education major.

She was okay. Her assignment instructions were sometimes a bit unclear or contradicting and her lecture style was not extremely engaging. I felt like I actually got more from just reading the textbook and then spending lectures vaguely paying attention. The assignments were not necessarily hard, just annoying at times.

condescending, treats her students like they're in special ed, which is pretty ironic.
