I have super mixed reviews about professor Amos. When I go to his class, I learn more than I learn in any other class (which is saying a lot because its from 6:30-9:10 PM), but he is super disorganized. Never responds to emails, wont show up to zoom calls, etc. If you are wanting to go to law school I overall suggest it because he teaches you how to write your personal statement, legal memo, legal brief, etc, but if disorganized professors drive you crazy then i would not take him. |

Actually the worst. I met with him on multiple occasions to discuss feedback on prior assignments as well as current assignments and he could never give me a clear answer on what was required or necessary to succeed. He also never provided a rubric or helpful example. Never communicated with his TA who sent out examples from their past semester, the class followed them, the class did poorly on assignments. I genuinely believe he is a fake person who puts up this cool guy front and then turns around and says the nastiest comments on assignments that include, but are not limited to, "Do you know what CREAC is?" and "Why would you word any sentence like this, like..ever?". Overall, my experience was super frustrating as someone who stepped up and tried to do well in the class and seek help, but was essentially pushed to the side. I honestly felt he had a grudge against me because I would constantly ask for help. If you're not doing something right, you should ask for help, right? Wrong. This man does not care about your future as a writer or in the legal field. He also called me the wrong name seven times after I politely corrected him. Please only take HIS class if it is the last option you have. And of the TA...eff you too. THIS CLASS IS COMPLETELY DISORGANIZED AND YOU WILL LEARN NOTHING!!! |

I strongly recommend Professor Amos for Engl392. He is a great teacher who is laid back yet manages to get his teaching points across. The class was designed to mimic what a student would do in Law School, and I felt that it does a good job at giving you a sense of what to expect to do in law school and if it is a career that is right for you. Although Professor Amos's instructions were a bit vague at times, he is very reasonable on grading, so that made up for it. |
