Did you think the exams or other major assignments were fair? Yes. Exams were based on lecture slides. Weekly quizzes directly from the weekly IBiology videos. --- Did you think the professor had reasonable expectations of the students in the course overall? Norma is extremely reasonable. Her goal was for us to be able to discuss scientific discoveries that impact countless people. She emphasized understanding rather than memorization. --- Were you a fan of the professor's teaching style? Great teaching style. She included many videos in her lectures and always encouraged questions. She cared to know her students, asking our names. While she records lectures, she values in person attendance and discussion! Go to the lecture since it’s worth it!! She included 2 scientific debates, which were insightful and fun. --- Was the workload appropriate for the number of credits? Yes. Weekly quizzes took 1 hour. 2 midterms and a final exam. Make sure to get all the points. --- Was this course a waste of time or was it beneficial in some way? Very beneficial. Rather than memorizing every detail of pathways, I’m walking about with highlevel understanding of the cell biology and key elements of pathways that relate to the most pressing contributions to the medical field! --- How much support were you given throughout the semester (office hours, extra resources, etc.)? Norma was responsive by email, office hours by appointment, stayed after class as long as you needed, and TAs were also available. --- TLDR: Take Norma if you get a seat!!! |

Most people don't come to class because her exams are online and open note. Just do all of the assignments on time and you will do well. This course is very light in terms of work, just weekly quizzes, two midterms, and the final. |

Dr. Andrews has got to be my favorite professor on campus. She's genuinely so sweet and understanding. This class is also pretty interesting since the class talks about specific cool scientific discoveries/techniques/applications and then explains the basic cellular biology behind them. Additionally, she genuinely tries to make the class easy and stress-free for the students by making our exams open notes and online. She cares about you learning the concepts, so if you apply effort to the class you'll do amazing. My only gripe with the class was the scientific debates that we did, but it was more awkward than hard. Overall, this class is one of my favorite ones now. |

Dr. Andrews is a sweetheart of a person and professor. Most people come to lecture for the first few weeks and then slowly come less and less. I recommended going to lecture since she covers many interesting topics. Make sure to do every SINGLE assignment since you will not get many chances to make up points. Overall, definitely a fantastic professor to talk to and learn from. Also: we had two scientific debates in class that were a great deal of fun. |

Dr. Andrews is very knowledgeable on the subject matter. She was always willing to the take time to help you understand concepts and clear up any confusion you might have. The course dives deeper into topics covered in BSCI330. |

Took this class during fall 2021. If you enjoyed BSCI 330, then you will definitely enjoy this class. It's pretty much a follow up from BSCI 330. We learned a lot about cancer, osteoporosis, adenoma, melanocytes, stem cells, and IPSC technology (which was the most interesting one). We had weekly video quizzes which were easy. Although we were on campus, we took the exams online due to COVID. As long as you review the lecture material, you will do well on her exams. |

The class teaches you about innovative and important biological technology and procedures. the lectures can be a little boring because Dr. Andrews speaks a little monotonously from the slides, but overall, it is not a super hard course and she kept our exams online and open-note even with in-person classes. there's a weekly video and quiz but its super straightforward and usually graded more for completion than accuracy. |
