At least for this class (Writing for Nonprofits), Eric Bond was a wonderful professor. He has lots of experience working in the sector, and he is both kind and clearly very passionate about the work he has done there. As for Bond as a professor... well, it's professional writing. He didn't hold classes on Friday this semester and frequently cancelled other days, but when we did have class it would be fairly-boring lectures about grammar and covering this class's four major projects: a resume/cover letter, a project proposal for a local nonprofit, a grant proposal to fund that project, and an ePortfolio. I don't know if there is more or less workload here than other professional writing classes, but the project proposal and grant proposal were both researched/written in smaller steps, and built on each other well such that you could reuse a lot of your work. He is also very lenient with grading, though he graded pretty slowly and frequently changed due dates of assignments this semester. Overall, this is a solid pick if you're trying to get a professional writing credit out of the way, and it's an even better one if you have any interest in working in nonprofits. I can't say this course was life-changing for me, but at least Bond didn't make it intolerable, and some of the stuff here was good fodder for resumes.

Annoying class with lots of busy work, but he does his best to keep a required gen-ed at least a little fresh and different. Business writing is annoying no matter who you take it with, but Eric makes it a bit better

Nice guy, would never say otherwise. But every single assignment in the course is completely useless. It's all slop busywork, nothing is related to professional writing beyond the surface level "have good word choice" and "write in paragraphs". Some weeks there are some random 600 word essays about irrelevant topics that do nothing but waste students' time.

This guy is this the best upper lvl english professor to take. He is very lenient on grading and when assignments due, usually pushing them back a week from when it is due. Idk if it is always like this with him but this fall semester he canceled so many classes like to the point where we only went to class a handful of times. Overall he is a pretty chill and laid back professor and it is a very EZ A

Took professor bond during the summer session. He was very understanding and flexible. The class was manageable with workload and consisted of four multiple part projects. It can be easy to fall behind in the course since the class is accelerated, but professor Bond is willing to work with you on extensions for assignments. I enjoyed this course and 100% recommend to anyone looking to fill a requirement and get a GPA boost over the summer.

A very kind and caring professor. Wishes the best for his students and is understanding when it comes to issues. Complete assignments on time and put effort into your papers, and you will do well.
