He is painfully slow, and all he does is read off of his slides. But when he isn't reading off of his slides he's going on random unrelated tangets. It is a struggle to stay awake in his lectures, which seem to be pointless until you miss one and there's not a good resource to catch you up. There are only 3 tests and 3 assignments in the class, with no extra credit, so it makes it even easier to struggle. He doesn't prepare you at all for exams, just stating "its on what we've been going over." I currently have a 4.0 gpa and I know this will be what kills it. I would sooner drop out or kill myelf than take another one of his classes.

Honestly the other reviews were lowkey right. As someone who attends lecture and discussion, i still have no idea what is going on. It seems the entire class has no idea what’s going on. He reads exactly from his web page, goes off track and lowkey second guesses himself. He is a sweet man, he cares about what he teaches, but it’s honestly so hard to pay attention. Every assignment/exam is out of 100 points. 3 exams, 3 assignments (assignments aren’t given out until a week/ a week and a half before they’re due, and he doesn’t open the submission until day of due date). They’re R code assignments, he WILL take points off for little mistakes, little…mistakes… To sum it up: very hard to stay engaged to lecture, long and very confusing, notes are posted online, discussion slides are posted as well. Everything given is 100 points.

Brame seems like a nice guy but you can tell he really doesn't care to do more than bare minimum. He has an odd policy about not being able to ask questions regarding assignments after a certain day. During lectures all he does is read off his screen. He's talked about how hes taught this course over 28 years and you'd think that meant he's really helpful but no. There are 3 exams and 3 assignments, 75% of your grade being the exams and he doesnt offer any type of extra credit so its not hard to fail. He also refuses to give you anything to prepare for the exams but instead tells us its "everything we've been learning" and to just look at the past practice questions. I just think its weird to be in this career if you aren't passionate about it because now the paying students are the ones that have to suffer. Definitely the worst professor I've had throughout my 4 years of college. If you dont have to take him, don't.

Professor Brame was nice and seemed to care about his students but I would not take him again. We only had 3 exams and one paper for the whole class so your overall grade really mattered on what you got. For exams he also only had 30 multiple choice questions and 5 short answer, both parts worth 50% each. If you messed up on one short answer you lost 10 points. He also had specific ways for everyone to write the paper and it was recommended you meet with him a couple times to figure out how to calculate data for the paper. It was hard to ask him questions because sometimes he would come off as annoyed in office hours and I still did not understand what he was trying to say.

I think he's trying his best but I really do not think he is meant for teaching. Seems like a smart guy but the way he explained the concepts made them even more boring than they already are. I didn't mind the content itself but the R code and homework felt very disconnected from the class itself. I think he does care about his students- just, again, the lectures were very boring and not helpful in a class where I think we all could have used them.

I didnt mind this class, it wasnt the best and certainly not the worst. His slides are posted and lectures are not mandatory (you wont miss anything if you dont go), most of the class never showed up - only for tests. His lectures are very dull and boring, not in a bad way, hence the topic but hes very educated and helpful. There was 3 tests, 3 homeworks; so if youre not a good test taker then I would watch out. Tests and the final are open notes, which can be extremely helpful.

Professor Brame is maybe the worst lecturer I have ever had. Lectures are insanely boring and not informational at all. Hesitant to answer valid questions pertaining to material and assignments, answers are often vague and unhelpful. He's a nice enough guy but would not recommend his courses.

For this class, I had 4 exams and 4 3-page essays. As long as you stay on top of your assignments, you will have no problem passing this class. I barely touched the textbook aside from studying for tests and citing information for my essays. The main problem with this class I have is that the lectures can get incredibly boring (especially since my section was a once a week 2-and-a-half-hour-long class). I'm writing this review while sitting in his class because I'm just bored. The professor does care about his students and wants us to succeed but the class is just boring.

Excellent professor, cares about students and listens to their concerns. Goes over all exam material in class. I felt the exams were fair for a 400 level. Four exams and two reports which were easy enough.
