He has an inherently boring voice but I'll admit that if you pay attention, he actually becomes somewhat interesting. He posts all the materials you could ever need or want online (lecture slides, lecture notes that basically say exactly what the lecture slides say, practice exams, study guides). I almost never went to class and still got A's. Grade consists of 3 exams and 3 easy essays (final is optional). Exams are definitions, matching, and multiple choice, and always have 5 pts worth of extra credit available. The only downside is, the essays are due on the same day you have an exam. Just do the essay (500-750 words) on one day, cram everything for the exam the night before using all the online materials, and you should be fine. Like seriously the amount of time I spent for this class is nominal.

I hated this class. His lectures were so boring and I did not pay attention at all because he couldn't keep our attention. Although he has everything online, it is still not enough to do well on the tests. His exams are there to trick you, and he puts choices such as "none of the above" or "all of the above" on almost every question which will trip you up. He is disconnected from his students and when he answers your questions, he doesn't succeed because he tends to go on unnecessary tangents. I should not be struggling to get an A in a 100 level course.

I loved this guy. He is hilarious and a great lecturer and knows his material down to the smallest detail. I went to all of his lectures and studied a lot for the tests and did well on them. However he does post the power points online and posts practice exams that you can take as many time as you want and I think you got points for. There is a lot of material to learn. This class is basically psyc301 in more detail. Highly recommended class.

I took this course as a three week course over the summer and considering everything was crammed together it was a pretty easy course. Literally all you have to do is study the slides, and review the practice exams. I missed almost 3 days while sick and I still pulled off a B+. He is very knowledgable and entertaining. I enjoyed the class. This class wasn't that bad at all.

Very pleasant, funny, and charming lecturer. His tests are extremely challenging though the first test was heavy duty neurophysiology and looked into a decent amount of biochemistry ( Doesn't mean you need orgo or anything). His second test looked over so many different systems including muscle, hearing, and visual that you cannot afford to miss a single lecture if you want a high grade. The third test was more relaxed, it cover the biological basis of learning, mental disorders, and functional organization of speech and speech disorders. Overall the class is not too difficult, a 180 is an A, and generally within reach for most students. The final replaces the lowest test, two quizzes that are online and can be repeated till you get full credit. Overall, if you study you'll do pretty well. But I think that generally you needed to have done well in Psyc301 or Bsci453 to do well in this course. The basics are covered but knowing more background information is a real benefit. I would personally take him again for another class if given the chance.

He is such a cute little professor so listening to him in lecture was very easy. Everything is posted online, including study guides, extra links, practice exams, etc. His exams are so easy because the short answer format forces you to learn the material in a good way. Overall, the material was a bit challenging but very interesting and beneficial.

Brauth is a great teacher. You can tell he really knows his stuff. True, with 402 he posts lecture slides, notes, study guides, and practice exams online, so you probably don't need to go to class, but I thought it was interesting and always went. There is a lot to memorize and study, but it's a neural systems course so that's expected. I highly recommend this course to anyone interested in biopsychology or the brain.

Dr. Brauth is an excellent psychologist, but just an okay teacher. He definitely knows his stuff, but his lectures, I'm afraid, put me damn near to sleep more often than not. I'm starting to pick and choose when I go to lectures now, because I feel like they are not always necessary, the reason being because of Brauth's AMAZING course materials on Blackboard/Elms. There are: 1. The Powerpoints from each lecture 2. Extensive Class Notes 3. Study Guides for all exams 4. Practice Exams for all exams Plus, he may hold online review sessions before exams. He's a nice enough guy and you can tell he is passionate about psychology, but honestly, all you REALLY need is your Blackboard account to pass this class with at least a B.

There is a LOT of material that needs to be memorized for this class--and it's primarily neurophysiology. Dr Brauth's a nice guy and he energizes his lectures with stories and a little dancing here and there, but you can get an A in his class without attending the lectures or reading long chapters in the book because he posts AMAZING lecture notes online. Even if you don't go to class, the notes + the powerpoint + sample exams are really more than enough to prepare for the exams. DO NOT RELY ON JUST THE POWERPOINT. It doesn't have even close to all the information you should know! The bulk of it is in the lecture notes, but they lack information, too, so it's necessary to use both in conjunction to really prepare for his exams. The class is out of 200 points; 3 exams at 60 points each, and the final is optional. If you're at a borderline grade, it can't hurt you because he takes the top 3. You basically get a free 20 points through an online quiz that can be taken over and over again.

Total waste of time. He is so far removed from his students, asks very personal questions like "who here has had anorexia?" or "do any of you take adderal?" and says things like "you wouldn't know this since your under 21, but alcohol can be harmful if one drinks excessively" and is completely serious too. It is SO easy and a complete joke, but a waste of time. I would not recommend it simply because you won't get anything out of the course.

Prof. Brauth was a nice guy, who constantly tried to engage the students with corny jokes and humorous insights. He explains concepts fairly well in his powerpoints, which are available online. He does drone occasionally, but generally, a very knowledgeable person and nice to interact with. Three tests, and 1 online quiz that you can retake as many times as you need to get a 100. Plus, an optional final that can replace you lowest exam grade. What's not to love?

The class can drag on a bit, but Prof. Brauth adds humor with his self-made illustrations in the powerpoints and examples. Not remarkable, but I don't have any complaints. Posts lecture notes online, but infomation is a lot more memorable if you attend lectures because it's a small class environment and his explanations of things will likely stick with you. No homework, 3 exams and a final.
