By far the absolute WORST experience I have ever had with any professor, if I could give zero stars I would. I recently completed a course with Professor Casertano, and it was the worst academic experience I've ever had. The lack of organization and care for students' well-being is shocking. Firstly, the professor displayed a consistent level of disorganization throughout the semester. Deadlines were unclear and frequently changed without any prior notice, causing unnecessary stress and confusion among students. How he obtained a PhD is mind-boggling. I would never recommend anyone to take any course taught by him. The professor is incompetent, lazy, and simply DOES NOT CARE. This course was a complete mess from start to finish. I submitted an exam well before the deadline, scoring an A, only to have it rejected for no apparent reason. This arbitrary decision reflects the professor's complete disregard for the effort students put into their work. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!

If I could give 0 stars I would. By far the absolute worst professor I have ever had. I recently completed a course with Professor Casertano, and I must say it was the worst academic experience I've ever had. The lack of organization and care for students' well-being is shocking. Firstly, the professor displayed a consistent level of disorganization throughout the semester. Deadlines were unclear and he would frequently change assignment directions without any prior notice, causing unnecessary stress and confusion among students. My personal experience in this course highlighted the professor's lack of understanding and compassion. Overall, Professor Casertano was disappointing, and I would caution other students to be wary of enrolling in any courses taught by this individual. The lack of organization, care for students, and understanding make for an unpleasant learning environment.

One of my worst professor's that I have had. He does not teach and makes students present the lecture material for over a month. This class is basically a waste of time because after the presentations he basically has nothing to teach. He is just lazy and wasting our time for a paycheck.

Absolutely horrible professor for INST341 (and im sure any other class too). Avoid him at all costs. I have never had a professor as bad as he is; unorganized, takes a whole semester to grade 1 paper, literally just mean, doesn't care about the job, lazy af. It's clear as day he's here only for the pay check. If he's the only professor available, I'd honestly wait till the next semester to take the class. He's that bad.

This is by far the most incompetent, disinterested, unorganized, joke of a professor ive ever taken a class with. Sets no expectations, his canvas is a mess, he tells students that due dates aren't important to him in class, and then gives 0s for late work. Nobody in this class learned much of anything over the semester, and I am personally offended at the uncaring aura he carries himself with. Its never been more blatant that a professor is just here to collect a paycheck, he does NOT care about his students, the course material, and I personally believe he has no business teaching at this level.

I don't have an expected grade to post for this and nothing has been graded. This class is so bad I may have to take it up with the dean of the school to try and salvage my grade. From day one we can barely hear what he's saying. The grading system was changing and when I approached him about an extension he said sure there's an automatic grace period and resubmission policy. This grace period is up for interpretation as the one in the syllabus says the grace period is two days but he said we could submit after. When attempting to complete the metadata assignment there were almost no instructions on the elms page. After submitting what I could figure out I received a bad grade. After correcting the errors I received from the grader I got another bad grade and the instructor pointed out new errors that he found. There is no structure to this class unless you sit in person for 90 minutes and try to piece together what you're supposed to do for the assignment. The students who did sit in class understood the directions through one method. And that was asking the teacher directly if the way they completed it was correct or not. That's not how directions should be communicated rather they should be posted on elms. Don't take this class unless you want to sit there and be confused the whole time. No one learned anything and the class revolved around parsing an interview document with a holocaust survivor and making a presentation on your curation process with it. The assignments were not hard at all, but there were no guidelines communicated unless you were in class to speak with him about it consistently. Additionally, his grading policy gave me leeway to prioritize other classes which angered him when i submitted most of my assignments in the last 2 weeks. Don't take this class!!!!!!

The worst experience I’ve had in any course at the college level. Considered petitioning to the iSchool for a new lecturer. He doesn’t teach at all. Students are expected to form groups, read an article and present to the class on a weekly basis. This class is a disaster.

Professor is disorganized and lazy. Does not lecture in class but instead makes students read and present course content. It is clear that he is just there to collect a paycheck
