Victoria Chan ENGL271 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 12/12/2025	BEST PROFESSOR EVER PLEASE TAKE HER!!!! She is very sweet and kind. Very flexible. One night I was having a terrible night and I emailed her and she gave me a 2-day extension. Her class is so relaxing. It is a time to unwind and be creative rather a class to be miserable in. You learn so much and grow as a creative writer. If you see her name, TAKE HER CLASS.
Victoria Chan ENGL271 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 12/11/2025	Professor Chan is incredibly considerate, and you can tell she cares deeply about every single one of her students. I was part of the first class she taught, and it was a very fun experience to learn alongside her. She's very passionate about what she does, and she translates that passion into her teaching. I'm not sure if she's going to change her format for this class, but when I took it, there were two fiction workshops, two poetry workshops, one poetry/fiction workshop of your choice, and a final portfolio. There were also Weekly Writing Journals and four Critical Responses, which you can basically write about anything you want. Her lessons and assigned readings were interesting and genuinely helped me improve my workshop pieces. She's very understanding about deadlines and grading because she knows we have other classes. She creates a very comfortable environment, and everyone in my class was great at giving constructive feedback and were overall very cool people. There is a lot of discussion in this class, but as someone who is not very talkative, it was still easy for me to make contributions. Overall, she's an amazing professor, and I strongly recommend taking her.
