The course only contains a midterm, final, and final paper. There is no homework, so you can spend the most minimal time on this course to focus more on other courses. I love the professor, especially since she's also young and can relate to being a student. She creates an engaging learning environment for all students and is willing to help as much as possible. In every lecture, she tries to engage with students and introduce real-life examples, making complex topics accessible and relatable. She is always available to answer questions, provide detailed feedback, and support students in succeeding in this course. She also introduced many guest speakers focused on different niche fields in journalism so that we could all find topics we were interested in during the course. I actually learned some valuable concepts that I will constantly use in my life, and it is one of the courses that you won't regret taking as a Gen Ed. |

Extremely good professor, had no homework, easy exams, very good at interacting with students, one of the few classes I had a good experience with at UMD. |

Her classes are so boring, but she is nice and she posts all the slides so you can go back and study. The two exams felt SO DAUNTING as they are weighted so heavy and go over so much info, but if you study her study guides, you do well. It's exactly what is on the exams. The final presentation and paper creep up on you, but with simple research you do well and she didn't grade those harshly. I liked this class, but it's not an easy gen ed so don't be fooled by the 150 part. |
