Expecting an A

Dr. Choi is a great professor if you want to be prepared for success later in the field of the stem. People say he's imtimidating and I think its because they are scared to ask questions that may seem dumb. I think its a combination of us not being prepared for class in general, and the fear of making a mistake. But, if you talk to a peer mentor or Dr. Choi himself you can realize they are nice people and want to help you succeed. He tries to be funny by posting science related memes. He also tries to be realistic as possible in lab training. You can tell he is very passionate about his research by how he talks and explains the research in the class. Also the content in this class can help you later down the line in advance stem classes. I recommened to take Dr. Choi's class if you are intrested in developing your professional skills as a student as well as develop a more broad knowledge for stem.

Very condescending and negative. Your work will never be good enough and he will continue to drill the same points which have been corrected already. However, FIRE120 is a very easy class so it's still easy to get an A.

Grading is slow, but it's worth it to have had Dr. Choi. He seems really intimidating at first because he's pretty expressionless but he's really funny and invested in your success. You should know what you're doing before you get to lab because he cold calls - but it really doesn't matter if you don't know the answer. Keep your lab notebook up to date, if you have a question it's probably already answered somewhere on elms, talk to him if you're ever confused. He's a really nice guy and really reasonable. He brings in food a lot - it's for the students and he gets kinda sad if nobody eats it.

Dr. Choi great professor and respected by the class. He can be tough but if you need help, he is always willing to spend time to clarify the content. One caveat, grading can be slow.
