This class teaches you a lot of statistics in R studio which could be useful depending on your background. The lectures are somewhat boring but not mandatory, and the presentations and homework aren't hard albeit they can involve log parsing and could be annoying. He doesn't really have a significant late policy as long as you turn in your work. He also has reflections where you correct your homework compared to his answer key and resubmit with your fixes, so it's fine even if you make mistakes on the initial submission. Dr. Condon makes our lives easier as he is an easy grader and gives out free points if you submit something reasonable. He also bought us pizza drinks and snacks for the last class which was great. One of the best HACS408 classes to take. |

Took course in spring 2023. This is a good class if you ever wanted to get familiar with R. I also think it's much more approachable to then the other technical ACES classes. There's actually a lot of stuff to learn in this class if you're interested in data visualization. At times the lecture can get boring, but if you're really into this stuff then I think Ed is a really great resource. The final project is choose your own topic so you can actually see a real world application of the stuff you're learning. |

I took this course in Spring 2022 Pros: + Professor provides ample help on assignments + Easy grader + Assignments are flexible, while you're encouraged to use R, you can use any programming language you want + Professor is pretty flexible with deadlines Cons: - Frankly, lectures are quite boring. The content that he goes over isn't something you can't just google in 10 minutes if necessary for a HW |
