I took MUSC130 because I heard it is an easy A. I did get an A, but it was a ton of annoying, tedious work that angered me and all my classmates as we did all of it through out the semester. Lectures were painful and always under-attended. If you need an HA core and can fit this class in, I'd say take it, because it is easy to do well, you just need to do a lot of really simple, but annoying and TIME CONSUMING (!!) work. ugh. |

This class and professor were both terrible. Would not take it again if you payed me. Should be an easy core class to get an A in. Its not. The way it is taught makes it difficult and much more work than it needs to be. Also Covey is a very boring lecturer and painful to listen to. I never went to lectures and have to credit my A to my TA who was easy to connect with and helped me whenever I needed it. |

Covey does not appear very professional. His behavior is a little strange for a professor and it sometimes makes it hard to take the class seriously. However this is a course that doesn't have to be taken seriously. Grading is very generous and it is not too difficult to get an A. That being said there are a LOT of assignments. You can BS the majority of it and get away with it but it is still an annoying waste of time. You need to go to lecture because attendance is taken but generally you don't have to pay attention too much. If you are looking for an easy HA then this is a fair choice. Final warning though: although it is easy, it is also very boring and Covey assigns more work than he should for a CORE class. |

This guy has got to be the most boring lecturer in the world. He just rambles on and on making it impossible to pay attention even if you are interested in the subject. The best way I could describe him is as a socially inept kid who can’t speak and is teaching a course. Occasionaly he will jump up and down and do something so awkward its funny but thats about it. His class isn’t that hard but he takes attendance so you have to be bored to tears every class. |

Covey is an interesting teacher. Since lectures are kind of pointless, but you still need to go because the attendance grade counts for a lot. There was a lot of busy work for this class, like listening journals and chapter review questions. But they were ALL graded easily!! The tests and quizzes were all multiple choice, and they provided you with a review sheet..so if you study the material on there you're all set. There is a term paper at the end of the semester which wasn't too bad either. Overall this class is pretty good and really easy - definitely take it if you're looking for an easy HA core to take. |

Prof. Covey is unconventional is every sense of the word, but he is still a great professor. His quirkiness makes the class much more interesting. Musc130 is actually a lot of work but if you do it you will get an A. TA's are very helpful. |
