Great instructor. Her main concern was that we understood the materials that we being taught in class. We were able to demonstrate our knowledge through our participation in class. She wasn't overly concerned or obsessed with our grades in the class. So she didn't just handing out a bunch of test, and quizzes about the readings. She was very flexible. |

Dr. DeLoatch is an amazing professor and truly cares about the well-being of all of her students. The content of SOCY277 is dense, and you should def take intro SOCY classes before taking this class, however she is a spectacular professor and will help you understand. I hate listening to lectures, but Dr. DeLoatch is engaging and I actually enjoyed going to lecture. I would totally recommend taking her classes! |

Prof. De Loatch is a great and passionate lecturer. She is knowledgeable and truly cares about the topic. The exams were okay, if you didn’t know the definitions you were not set up for success. Extra credit was offered sometimes for in class group assignments. Attendance isn’t mandatory, but it is helpful. The readings are key for exams as well. My grade reflects the fact that towards the end, I stopped going. It is a great Gen Ed class & it is interesting if you are into education & how the system sometimes fails. |

She is an amazing instructor that is very passionate about the subjects she teaches. The coursework can be slightly hefty and repetitive at times but once you get into the flow of it, it becomes easier as the course goes on. Attendance isn't mandatory but I would advise you go as much as you possibly can because she likes to drop hints on exams during lecture and regularly gives extra credit as the semester goes on. All in all I would highly recommend Dr.DeLoatch. |
