He is a real hoot. Dedicated to his material/subject and passionately shares it with students. But he also is relatable and respectful of students' energy, understands college stress and does not put a lot of pressure on students. I enjoyed the readings. He is just cool. Grades pretty chill, as long as you put in effort |

Honestly not a hard class at all. You don't have to do the readings because he yaps a lot. But, he runs over time a little bit because after chatting to himself for the whole class period, he asks the class a question (loosely based on the reading, so you can answer without having read) and takes the time to answer everyone, even when it's time to go. Really nice guy tho! |

The content was interesting, but the classes were most lectures and could be boring sometimes. |

Professor Drabinski is a great professor. I found the content and our class discussions really interesting and insightful. The class is pretty low-stress; he assigns a podcast and some smaller writing assignments throughout the semester. There are obviously readings for each class but they're never too dense. He mostly cares about you reading the content and sharing your thoughts and reactions to it, as well as your personal connections to the texts. He can talk a lot about his personal life at times, but it never got annoying or anything. I would recommend this class, or any class with him. |

Dr. Drabinski's really passionate for his classes and his students, and he covers some of the most interesting topics you can learn at UMD. His classes just feel like book clubs/film clubs, there's no pressure to do anything and if you want you cruise by very easily. For 350 specifically, all we needed to do was record a podcast and do these 3 writing assignments where we wrote about 500 words about 2 films for each assignment. To some degree though, with how interesting the content was, I wish I was pushed to learn more. I'd love to write an essay for his classes. |
