I have taken multiple classes with Prof. Elsisi. He is a great teacher with regards to Arabic literature and I enjoyed his classes very much. However, he is not an expert in politics and theology. When it comes to those two issues, Elsis tends to present more opinion rather than fact. In one of his classes that dealt with politics and Religion, most of his lecture was baseless and relied heavily on his personal experiences and views, not hard facts. It is obvious also that he is not fond of being questioned about anything that he says. On a more positive note, he is a fair grader, and he gives each individual student the room to grow with the language. His exams are very much in accord with the objectives of the class and he even provides opportunity to re-do assignments. Over all his is a good teacher, but know your facts and be able to separate his mostly baseless ranting from reality. |
