I'm a business minor so the class was online. The class was disorganized and had poor communication from the start. The very first quiz wasn't working for anybody in the lockdown browser and I think about 50 students emailed him complaining about this before he acknowledged it was his fault. There were so many technological issues in this class because he doesn't know how to use Canvas. The TAs and he were very unapproachable through email and not helpful at all. |

Async bizz minor class. Not much interaction but I did not like how inflexible he and his policies are. Should be able to get an A |

Very solid proffesor. The class consists of lectures based off of powerpoints with the occasional discussion at the end. Exams can be confusing even if you thoroughly review all material. He is overall pretty nice and wants his students to understand the material |

Easy class with a nice professor. His exams are not hard as long as you go over the slides and read the textbook. He curves the exams pretty well too if the average is a bit low. There will also be a group project that you will present on the last day so make sure your group covers all the components on the deliverables since he didn't give us a rubric. He also offers plenty of chances for extra credit so theres no reason why you should get below a B in this class if you're paying attention tbh. |

His classes for this course is filled with him speeding through lecture slides which were hard to follow and honestly not very helpful. The homework was very easy since it was just a discussion board and a smart book assignment each week (both for completion). There were 7 pop quizzes throughout the semester but the two lowest were dropped and they were each only worth 1% of your grade. The midterm was very confusing and he didn't scale it as much as the other reviews said he would. The group project was also very confusing and he didn't spend much time explaining it, causing for our group to do poorly on it. |

Very straightforward professor, he lets you know what he expects and the responsibilities students hold (such as completing assignments, etc.). There are a few pop quizzes, but he usually mentions around when there will be one. Gives extra credit, there is one group project, which is not that bad, but definitely estimate the capital and all that since when presenting it's similar to shark-tank you need a demand forecast and all that. I would recommend the professor, although he only reads from slides and students take notes the days we have a pop-quiz if your not in class (he takes attendance) you can't take it (& if you took it since it's online but weren't in class you get a 0!). Class is somewhat blended, there are zoom days! |

Professor Gardner is a great professor. Many of my friends had other professors for BMGT100F and said their work load was a lot easier/lighter BUT I truly think this class taught me a lot, especially the fundamentals of business. Gardner does a great job at explaining everything and puts content into real world situations which is very helpful. The class load is fine and manageable. It's so easy to get a 100% on all the HW's as they are just smartbook assignments. The weekly discussions are also fairly easy, because the TA grades them. If you have the TA: Randy, you are in luck! He is awesome. The only struggle was towards the end for the final group project. The guidelines were a bit unclear, but stay after class and ask questions (this also shows youre a good student and builds relationships) and you'll be okay. |

Overall I had a very positive experience with this course. I was in the 8 am section and despite the time, I went to nearly every lecture because of the incentives that Professor Gardner gives you. Attending class on discussion and pop quiz days is what keep your grades outside of exams at an A, plus he really emphasizes what is important for the exam in class. The exams were fair (one midterm, one final) and were reflective of the lecture slides. |

Professor Gardner is a very nice man. He goes over his slides during lectures and smart book assignments once a week as hw and an online discussion as well. He goes pretty fast during his lectures but he posts the powerpoints on canvas so you can just take notes at your own pace. Overall I would take his class again. |

Prof Gardner is in my opinion the best professor for 110F. His class was really chill, you just take notes while he speeds through the slides for each chapter, and he usually ends class 15-30 min early. The assignments were a SmartBook assignment and a discussion post once a week. The bigger assignment throughout the semester is a group project. He wasn't very clear on what he expected from us for the project so my team missed the mark on a few things and it ended up bringing our grades down a bit. The exams are a little confusing but he curved tf out of the midterm and made my 86 a 99. Overall really nice person, probably will choose to have him again in an upper level course. |

Prof Gardner is one of the nicest professors I've had at UMD. He is extremely understanding and genuinely wants the best for his students. He structures his class around powerpoint's which can be boring at times but they are the key to his exams. He curved our midterm 9% and went over every question in class for chances for us to redeem why the majority now understands the correct answer. It was a bit sad when a lot of people stopped coming to class because he is a really sweet professor. His final was a huge curveball though and was really difficult for some reason. He still curved it but I wasn't able to make the cut off for an A. Overall, he's super knowledgable, kind, and I highly recommend to take any classes with him. |

I loved Prof Gardner. He is genuinely such a nice man and very understanding. Sometimes he makes jokes in class and is able to engage the students by asking questions. He does go through the powerpoints fast but he posts them and explains every concept very well. The exams can be confusing, but if u review your notes you'll be fine because most of it is just knowing the vocab. He curves a lot too. And he offers extra credit assignments that can give you 2 extra points on the exam. |

I am a junior Accounting and IS double major and taking this class was one of the best classes I have taken The other reviews are accurate to what he does now (small writing assignments and 2 noncumulative exams total) and I would recommend any business student to take this as an elective, who wants to get a small taste of supply chain, or wants an easy class to boost your GPA. I really really enjoyed the class it does get dry sometimes (it is about transportation) but if you pay attention and participate the class goes by fast ( I have him at 9:30 am and the class still participates). I did not think the exams were hard, he does try to curve/explain questions, and even does a review that covers some exam questions with a review sheet that helps you study. It is a cool non-business class that helps you connect to a topic you do not really study and to the real world. If he taught more classes I would take him again. |

He is a really nice professor. He answers questions and really likes to interact with the class. He goes through the powerpoints at a really fast speed, so make sure to type fast. His lectures cover every material that the book does as well. His exams are a lot harder than the actual class. However, the curve is pretty nice. I got a 72% on the midterm and that was curved up to an 84%. The best way to study for this class is to review materials, go over and answer the study guide, and try to find application problems to practice. |

Really, really nice guy and an excellent lecturer. I don't have any trouble staying engaged in class. We had two exams total over the semester: one midterm and one non-cumulative final. All multiple choice. If you attend class, pay attention, and study from the study guide, his exams are an easy A, plus he's reasonable with his curve and throw-out questions. When I saw he was teaching 374 next semester I structured my entire schedule around it so I could take him again. Highly, highly recommend! |

He is one of the nicest professor I have had in the business school. I will always go out of my way to take one of his classes, and he singlehandedly help me complete my supply chain major. All his classes are structured the same (all-MC midterm, all-MC final, easy group project, and some easy discussion posts). In terms of the projects and discussions posts, as long as you do them with minimal effort, you will get over an 85% on each assignment. Leland truly cares about his students and will take the time to learn everyone's name and follow up to concerns that students have. The only drawback is he will cold-call during lectures but not knowing the answer (or not paying attention) will not negatively effect your grade. |

He is such a great professor! He makes his lectures interesting even if its on a boring subject and he genuinely wants to help his students if he can. I was definitely disappointed when his other class wouldn't fit into my schedule. His exams are surprisingly tough though. I really studied for the exams and thought I knew all the topics but I still didn't do too well on the exam. He definitely made it easier to get up for an early morning class though so I would take him again if I could |

Genuine guy who wants to see you succeed in a business environment, lecture heavy class with tests being worth 70% of the class. If you didn't know about majoring in supply chain before this class, you will for sure afterwards |

Professor Gardner is awesome--if you show him you care about the class. I went to class and participated and he was very nice and willing to help me out with course material and other career related questions. I can't say he did the same for students who didn't show or who didn't participate. He gives out A LOT of extra credit for showing up and will explicitly say things are on the exam. Which is good because his exams are tricky and long. Overall, great professor and great guy. The topic is somewhat dry, however he adds modern examples. |

This professor is so amazing. I really wish my semester was not overloaded so that I could have done better in his class. The guy is hilarious and extremely knowledgeable in government. He is very kind and understanding so if you're having difficulty with anything do not be afraid to approach him. Good luck and study for those exams! |

Very nice guy, always willing to help. He's got a good sense of humor and presents the material well. If you don't get something, go to office hours. His exams can be a bit tricky but overall they're pretty easy if you just fill out the review packets. Great professor, I'd gladly take another class of his. |
