As a senior, I can confidently say that Genesis is one of the kindest teachers I have ever had (classes are taught by graduate students). The class itself is veryyyyy laid back. No tests, no final exam, small classroom vibes, 3 open-note quizzes, 3 papers, 1 longer group presentation, 1 short group presentation, and two helping sessions (talking with an assigned partner and giving insight on difficulties the other may be going through, eventually giving us the chance to give advice) over the course of the entire semester. Every graded assignment is very straightforward and is graded with a lot of lenience. This class was such a nice start to my morning, and I unbelievably wish that I could take it again. It's a great elective to have under your belt- you leave being more cognizant of the way you can approach actively listening to what others are saying (all based on the Clara Hill helping skills model), which is truly applicable to any major or career path. TAKE THIS CLASS!!!! Easy and beneficial- what more could a student want. |
