Rachel Ghosh EDHD320 Expecting a B+ Anonymous 03/25/2024	She does not provide clear guidelines for assignments, but simultaneously grades harshly. During group presentations, the entire class has to complete a "reflection" using questions she created. Even the groups presenting have to do reflections that day. I'm generally an A student, but her expectations have been more challenging than they need to be, considering the material is easy to understand.
Rachel Ghosh EDHD320 Anonymous 11/29/2023	I've never left a review for a professor, but the experience I've had in this class has been so, so bizarre. As other reviews have said, she grades WAY too harshly. The class material is interesting, and honestly really easy to understand, but she makes it next to impossible for you to succeed. This should be a simple class, but she makes your life much more difficult. She will not work with you if you need help or extra time on assignments, no matter the circumstance. I have never left a class feeling like I didn't get the grade I deserved, but I honestly feel that way with every single assignment. If you can avoid it, do NOT take her class. The course itself is really interesting, but you won't enjoy it with her at all. And, she WILL have unannounced graded in-class assignments that she won't let you make up.
Rachel Ghosh EDHD320 Anonymous 09/10/2023	The lectures are very informative but no matter how much effort I put into her class, she always gave me the grade that I thought was less than I deserved. Her grading is way too harsh. I received a 7/10 for an in class assignment that was supposed to be a less stress activity but it brought my grade down even though I put a lot of thought into it. She took apart each sentence, each detail that I included and asked to elaborate even MORE. If you're taking this class to fulfill an elective, don't. Switch when you can. I currently have to take this for my major which is the only reason why I'm staying and there are no other professors currently available.
Rachel Ghosh EDHD320 Expecting an A Anonymous 04/17/2023	compared to the other professor teaching this course during this semester, her expectations and grading was way harder. Other classes exams were fully online, ours were in person on lockdown. Graded a heavily weighted presentation super harshly. A lot of work (reading quizzes, unannounced graded in class activities, chapters where we have to teach ourself before class). This course was previously regarded as a relatively low stress class/ good option for an elective. Definitely not the case, but if youre taking for your major and youre prepared to put in effort shes a solid choice.
