This class has absolutely NOTHING to do with computer graphics. The title and description are entirely inaccurate. This is a class on projective geometry and linear algebra. We never actually discussed anything to do with computers or how the projective geometry translates to coding in the slightest. That being said: for this semester fall 24 the course structure was relatively stress free. The entire grade was 5 HW assignments that usually had 5 problems each (each with 3-7ish subproblems so 25 problems on average per HW), but we were allowed to complete them in groups of up to 5 people. His lectures are generally poorly structured and lack any direction. They are hard to follow if you aren't really good at linear algebra already. The lectures also have pretty little to do with the HW assignments, so there's not much incentive to learn or pay attention from class. Overall I don't think i have learned less from a class in my 7 semesters so far in college. I will say it was nice being able to forget about the class for 2-3 weeks at a time, then on the day before the HW is due grind it out with my group. Mr. Goldman is a very kind and understanding person who does want you to succeed so he will work with you in office hours or during class if you're brave enough to ask for clarification enough times. This class is "experimental" so it is still evolving, and I am not sure whether this same low-learning stress-free model will be implemented in the future, so take at your own risk. 4/5 stars for the easy stress free upper level elective. If this class had any sort of difficulty to googling the answers on the HW's or if it was harshly graded then I would give it 2/5/ |

I had Prof. Goldman for Intro to Number Theory. He is very patient, takes time to explain things in detail, and is super responsive to questions. He will approach the same problem or concept in different ways, so you end up with a super thorough understanding of the material covered in lecture. His exams are fair and are based entirely on what's been taught in lecture and practiced in homework assignments, so you're not thrown any unfair curve-ball questions. I really enjoyed his class this semester. |

really really nice person, understanding of your concerns and values your enjoyment and learning. his lectures can be kind of boring and repetitive at times, but homework and exams are fair |

I didn't believe people when they said their professor's voice would put them to sleep until I took this class. He seems like a nice enough guy, and I don't think the class is super hard, but I straight up could not learn anything from the lectures. I taught myself the content for the first midterm and did well, and I'll have to do the same for the final. I've definitely had worse professors but I wouldn't recommend him. |

He is a very sweet guy and cares about you're grade and makes fair assignments. However, his lectures could be structured a bit better as they can be all over the place at times |

Great professor, clearly very passionate about the topics taught. The professor often engaged in discussions with students about math topics. The workload in the class was light(1 homework assignment every 2 weeks), but still allowed a chance to gain an understanding of the content. Dr. Goldman was willing to go over homework problems the class struggled with in class. The final exam was also curved. The only negative was that the professor is not the best lecturer and often seemed to have difficulty conveying topics. |

Super nice guy, not the best teacher, but I still learned a good amount and the curve was super generous |

Dr. Goldman is such a nice and helpful instructor! He is always willing to meet with his students outside of class to discuss homework, class material, and even just normal things in life! His homeworks were challenging because he wanted students to be challenged, but he's more than happy to elaborate or assist you if you're really stuck on a problem. He also provided us with notes from previous semesters, both from him and Justin Wyss-Gallifent, which were super useful in clearing up any confusion in the material. Overall, the course was difficult but Dr. Goldman was super helpful and friendly to everybody. |

Quite possibly the biggest disappointment of a class I've ever had. His class has no direction or structure. "Lectures" are just a discussion between himself and the 4-5 math geniuses in class who already know everything, while everyone else is left in the dust, not following a single word. This makes the homework problems and tests pretty hard. Finals are coming up and it will be interesting to see how he decides final grades, since everyone seems to be doing either really well or abysmally bad. |

Don't be fooled... this is a projective geometry course, not a computer graphics one. There is zero computer work involved, and almost no discussion about of how the material could even be applied to computer graphics. The professor admits that it is an "experimental" course... meaning there is no text, making it very difficult to follow if you get lost. He should really have lecture notes posted online to give students at least SOMETHING to go by. Only take it if you kick ass at Linear Algebra. |
