I took this course as a way to meet new people and get to know UMD. I was very wrong. Grissom's class has an absurd amount of work associated with it for being a 1-credit course. On top of that, attendance is required. She stopped grading all these assignments a month into the semester and waited until the last weekend of the semester to grade the rest of the assignments. She took off points on assignments in arbitrary ways and offered no feedback or explanation on assignments as to why. Very frustrating, as I felt this class could have been a good introduction to UMD, but it was anything other than that. I also know other advisors who teach this course do it very differently, so I would recommend taking it with someone else or not taking it at all. |

Do not take Stephanie's section of BSOS361. This was an absurd class and she demanded much more work than all other professors who taught this class. She said it would not go to the end of the semester but our final project (that no other section did) was due on the 22nd of December and we met up until the last class. She adds a participation grade for being in class so you can't even skip this pointless class. Take any other teacher for this class. |
