PLEASE READ. WARNING AGAINST REGINA HAAG!! Horrible Teacher. I loved German until I had her class. She falsely accused me of cheating on a TAKE HOME OPEN BOOK EXAM, and her "logic" was that I scored too well by getting an A. She assumed I could not study and receive an A on a take-home exam. I agree with upholding academic honesty, but I did not cheat and worked very hard to get a good grade. Her false accusation negatively impacted me. Shame on teachers like her to spread lies and ruin my love for learning German. By the way, this was an optional class for me, as I have already completed all graduation requirements, and therefore was completely taking this course for my love of learning German. She ruined that. That is the opposite of what educators should do. Her actions are evil, and she deserves to be fired. Please, save yourself and NEVER take Regina HAAG's class. WORST CLASS EVER. This false accusation hurt my reputation, and this made me so depressed to the point of hospitalization. Is this really what she wants her impact to be on this planet? Making students severely depressed because of her false accusations. Her assumption was wrong, and it hurt me. UMD DO BETTER. |

I agree with the below comment. She is generally a nice person, but she definitely has favorites. She will treat you considerably differently if you are not one of her favorites. She won't necessarily be mean to you but rather polite and it feels like something is off. Whenever someone in our class had a question or had polite but critical feedback, she wouldn't really address it. She would just reiterate the instructions. I don't know if it's a communication thing where there's a disconnect between what we are saying and what she's understanding, or if she's just letting her pride get in the way. That said, overall she's fine as an instructor. My german definitely improved in her course and I plan on taking more courses with her. |

i wish i could give 2.5 stars. nice enough of a professor, but pretty disorganized and doesn't seem to handle questions or feedback well. |
