First, this review is for Douglas Hamilton, the physics teacher (not the astronomy or math teacher). His lectures were not the most interesting thing most of the time but he had enough demos to keep my attention. Plus the homework was pretty easy and he ended up curving the class a lot. But most importantly, he was an incredibly nice teacher and was always happy to meet with me (and I would assume other students) if I had questions about the class (or anything else). |

He's a rather enthusiastic professor though he may not seem like it. If you ask for help, he'll always help you and try to understand your situation. His teaching skills are not excellent but he tries to make up for it by making tests doable and solvable. He'll curve according to the bell curve and adjust accordingly. Fair grader! |

This review is for Douglas C. Hamilton. (the physics professor!) Professor Hamilton was an excellent teacher; he clearly explained concepts and was very open to students. He encouraged class discussions & participation, and was very approachable during office hours or after class. The only reservation I have is that I took the "H" version of the phys272 class. Big mistake. There is additional homework every week (which was no big deal) but additionally, there was a 10 page paper on a physics topic of choice. It was dreadful... There are much easier H-versions, but Professor Hamilton was very good nonetheless. |

Dr. Hamilton was a clear, fair professor for Physics 1. He was very understandable in lecture and did many demonstrations and example problems in class. Mastering physics hw was due each week. |
