SPAN203 Expecting an A- Anonymous 05/23/2024 |
Daniela was so nice and understanding. She wanted all of her students to succeed. There was a lot of work because the course was over winter break and it was only 3 weeks long, but it was really easy. I will say she is a very picky grader. She is very big on participation, I answered every other question and got an A- in participation. She graded the test portions pretty hard for students who are not supposed to have a Spanish background. Overall, if you do the work and show up for the zooms you should do well. |

-If you are gonna take SPAN 303, take it with her. I am a Spanish minor and this course is probably the hardest course in the entire class req list. But she makes it so simple and helpful. Lectures can get a little boring and lengthly but there's always discussions and she actually cares that you understand the material. -Very welcoming and understanding if you make a mistake, she's willing to help you. Midterm was very simple, and quickly responds to emails literally at anytime of the day. -Would recommend her to anyone. -Only issue I have is that in order for her to explain assignments you have to email her about them, she doesn't go over the assignments she assigned in class. |

Daniela is one of the sweetest Spanish teachers at UMD. Her class was super interesting and consisted of a lot of small group talk during class which really made it a low stress class. It was also a great way to actually practice speaking the language -- I feel like so many other Spanish classes don't allow you to consistently practice speaking. There were a few mini essays throughout the course (2-3 pages) and some grammar homeworks. The midterm and final exam were actually one-on-one "interviews" with Daniela and, while a little nerve-racking, they were actually super relaxed because Daniela genuinely wants you to success and she's super approachable. DEFINITELY take a class with Daniela at some point if you can!!! |
