Professor Hill is my favorite professor I've had over the course of my college experience. Her lectures were interesting and engaging and she is always willing to explain the concepts discussed in class further or help you if you're struggling. The course was a decent amount of work, but the assignments felt very relevant and reasonable (not busy work at all). Overall I would absolutely recommend this course and professor. |

Professor Hill is so sweet, kind, and compassionate! She's also super smart too so definitely go to her office hours if you need help. She is very understanding and gives extensions if you ask 24 hours before an assignment is due. There are three async exams and she provides study guides for each one (and is open note). The exams questions are all conceptualization, so you can't just memorize vocab and stuff. She posts all lectures, all PowerPoints, and even the class recording for those who miss class or just want to review the content again. We had discussion on Fridays and they weren't bad. They were a mixture of discussion boards and case studies. However, after the first month or so, the Friday assignments were just case studies and no longer discussions. The TA's in the class were nice but graded sorta harsh and I was not the only one who felt this way. They were sweet, though, and just wanted us to learn and improve our papers. Towards the end of the semester, we had to turn in a major character conceptualization paper that had a page limit of 10. Overall, it was a very interesting and fun class. Definitely recommend to anyone thinking about becoming a counselor or therapist in the future. |

This class is structured well-it consists of 2 in person lectures a week, a weekly discussion board on Fridays, and open note, online exams. Her lectures are spaced out well and she leaves time in between topics to allow for group discussion in our tables, which is really nice and insightful for applying theories we've learned. Dr. Hill seems like a young and fairly new professor, but she knows what she is doing and it shows in her lectures and teaching style. I have learned a lot from this class that will be extremely useful for me in my future psychology career. |
