MATH312 Expecting a C+ Anonymous 12/19/2024 |
Be prepared to be graded on something slightly mentioned. Be prepared to learn only the way he knows how to teach it. When asked to teach it a different way he says “I’m not sure how you want me to do it” he decided he wanted to give us a project not on the syllabus, grade it AFTER the final and be super picky about his grading. He picks favorites and is constantly asking them “what answer did you get”. I spent SO much studying on this class and still felt unprepared. |

MATH312 Expecting a C+ Anonymous 12/18/2024 |
For starters my C+ was today on the day grades are due. I’ve had an A- the entire course. He’s seriously the worst professor I’ve ever had. “Can you explain it a different way” “um no”. He decided last minute to make a project and grade it the day after finals, so no accurate grades were known for us. Additionally, his exams are worth so much with very little room for quizzes to help you. I’ve gotten a B on both exams but because of the final it hurt more than anything. Not to mention he decided to be EXTREMELY picky when grading the project over 2 months later. On the last day of class which was meant to be a review, he decided to teach us something “for fun” that won’t be on the exam . I seriously am telling you to not take this class with him. |

I took this course as a gen ed, and because of such it is very easy. It is actually middle school math review and basic high school stuff so if you are trying to get that gen ed done here you go. Himmelsbach is a very nice guy, he is very kind, can be funny, and goes over content with a good pace. He doesn't assume you have done any of this before so it makes a very open environment, and he is perhaps the most patient teacher I have ever had. Insanely nice guy, knowledgeable, and would highly recommend both course and professor. |
