Great professor who teaches banking - such a chill topic that is fairly simple to understand. He breaks it down really well for you. Hurtado is a chill and fun guy. In terms of assignments: we have a homework due before every lecture graded by completion. We also have a quiz after every lecture but they're typically the same easy questions from the non-graded quick checks we have at the beginning of class or from the HW questions which he'll review during class. Then we have three opportunities for exams. Hurtado explains concepts very thoroughly. Exams are so chill and slight. As long as you have all the equations on your cheat sheet and understand the fairly simple banking concepts than you're guaranteed an A. Love how you can also drop one exam, Hurtado is the best. Definitely recommend this finance elective. To do well in this class, I'd recommend reviewing slides before class and just listening well in lectures. You also can get up to like 5% extra credit for just participating in class. Definitely recommend - he's awesome!! |

This class was great! At the beginning, it seemed like a lot with the amount of homework and quizzes each week, but it’s very manageable. There were some classes where I felt like the content could have been explained better, but overall, he wants you to learn in class and challenges you just enough. Also, there’s no final and the optional project (which was easier than the midterm) replaces one of the midterm grades. Extra credit was given in the form of participation. Would definitely recommend! |
