Agustin Hurtado BMGT445 Anonymous 02/25/2026	Okay the content of this class is fine. Writing this in the middle of the semester so idk how the exams even are yet BUT I have to complain about the logistics of this class. The set up of the class is that we have a quiz at the first 5 minutes of class, lecture, and a quiz at the last 5 minutes of class. The quiz at the beginning is ungraded and the quiz at the end is graded. There is an access code and the quiz is only unlocked for those 5 minutes. Here is the issue. First of all, we had a snow day and class was cancelled yet he still assigned a quiz that was only unlocked for the 5 minutes that the class time would have been. Annoying. Then he was sick one day and cancelled class and yet he still assigned a quiz that had to be done during the 5 minutes it was unlocked. But this time it wasn’t unlocked during when it would’ve been in class time…nope…it was unlocked for five minutes at noon on a SATURDAY. Then in class he will talk during the quiz time and won’t give us the access code and then when he does we only have like a minute and a half to answer a bunch of questions. One time he messed up the timing of when the quiz was unlocked and we all had to stay an extra 5 minutes after class time to do it. People in my class have brought up their concerns about this multiple times in class and all he says is sorry but doesn’t do anything about it. Some of the lowest quizzes are dropped but it's ridiculous that there is always an issue. If you are going to make something such a big part of our grade you need to have a better system. Make the time longer, make us allowed to take it out of class if we don’t have enough time in class, don’t assign quizzes when there isn’t class, like literally anything. Also we have homeworks due the night before each class and the questions are never posted until the day it is due.
Agustin Hurtado BMGT445 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 05/09/2025	Great professor who teaches banking - such a chill topic that is fairly simple to understand. He breaks it down really well for you. Hurtado is a chill and fun guy. In terms of assignments: we have a homework due before every lecture graded by completion. We also have a quiz after every lecture but they're typically the same easy questions from the non-graded quick checks we have at the beginning of class or from the HW questions which he'll review during class. Then we have three opportunities for exams. Hurtado explains concepts very thoroughly. Exams are so chill and slight. As long as you have all the equations on your cheat sheet and understand the fairly simple banking concepts than you're guaranteed an A. Love how you can also drop one exam, Hurtado is the best. Definitely recommend this finance elective. To do well in this class, I'd recommend reviewing slides before class and just listening well in lectures. You also can get up to like 5% extra credit for just participating in class. Definitely recommend - he's awesome!!
Agustin Hurtado BMGT445 Expecting an A Anonymous 05/16/2024	This class was great! At the beginning, it seemed like a lot with the amount of homework and quizzes each week, but it’s very manageable. There were some classes where I felt like the content could have been explained better, but overall, he wants you to learn in class and challenges you just enough. Also, there’s no final and the optional project (which was easier than the midterm) replaces one of the midterm grades. Extra credit was given in the form of participation. Would definitely recommend!
