Ibrahim is a laid back teacher and you will likely end up with an A in the class. The class, however, is very poorly created and if you do not keep up, you will fail the class. The class is structured so that you watch lectures and create a website based on those lectures. Since all websites have different needs, it is difficult to understand and replicate code correctly. Students need to put in a ton of extra work and their own research about coding in these new languages in order to keep up. The languages we use are not even current anymore, even other UMD professors have said that this class has not been updated in 20 years! |

This class is a JOKE! Ibrahim doesn't teach anything and his TA Cyrus does all the "teaching." His teaching consists of sending old lecture videos. I don't know why I paid money for this course when I taught myself everything. His other TA is super helpful though, Caifu, but since he's the only person on the teaching staff, everyone goes to him so he's flooded at office hours and beyond. |

This class is taught by the TA and the lectures are unhelpful, so you will basically have to teach yourself how to code. Pick a good group or the semester is going to really suck. |

Do not take him. Talks nonsense and makes fun of students during class but when it's time for presentations, he's incredibly bitter and mean. He cuts everyone off mid slide to critique them. Toxic energy. |

One of the WORST classes I've taken at Smith. He comes across as pretending to care but teaches you ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Practically no lectures, never helped with any questions, and always pushes you to his TA who has a job and also won't help you. The only way you will do well in this class is if you have a good group. |

This dude teaches you ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Barely saw him the entire semester and you are left on your own to survive. You basically do a whole group project in the course without any lectures or help from him. If you try to get any help, he pushes you to his rude TA who has already has a job and won't help you. If I could give 0 stars on this experience I would. |

Really enjoy the guy. The lectures can be a bit dull (because the material itself is pretty dull), and he wants you to engage during his presentations, so he'll pick on people to answer class questions, and he'll poke fun from time to time but he's a funny dude. Make sure your group in this class is quality, as the course centers around a semester-long consulting project. The project is very comprehensive in nature and it's not one of those things you can just "wing". But, he made himself available time after time to go through class topics for each group which was greatly appreciated. |

Overall a professor that is really fun to be around but also is fairly chilled. The class is mostly project based so you dont have to show up to many lectures but the exams are spit back(study the slides really well) but not too easy. Choose a good team and it will be a very chilled course. He is so nice. |

I can't believe I'm paying for this class. Ibrahim is basically a no-show for the class and most groups have no clue what's going on. He barely lectures and just uses old videos taught by someone else where you can't even see what's happening in them. Such a frustrating and disappointing experience. |

Overall great professor. The course is essentially a one-semester long consulting project where you build an information system for a client, and he gives very good feedback on your work after your presentations. I found his grading to be fairly lenient, and he understands that this is probably the first time we've been engaged in such a comprehensive project. |

This rating is for Ibrahim's TA, who basically teaches the entire 407 course. He's amazing but if you're taking this class after spring 2020 then you won't have him. Just pray that your TA is as capable as mr. Sadaat was prepare to learn a lot about coding websites |

Pretty good professor. His lectures aren't the most interesting but there not completely boring either. The class basically has two components, the exams and the group project. The exams are not terrible, as long as you study the slides he gives, you'll get a good grade on those. The project isn't overly difficult but it requires ALOT of time and dedication. You have to consistently meet with your team to get the work done. And hes pretty particular about what he wants in the project. But if you listen to his suggestions, you will get a good grade. Overall, not an overly difficult class but you have to be heavily involved throughout the semester. |

I really enjoy his style of teaching. He is much more engaging than the other IS teachers, even if the stuff he has to teach isn't all that interesting. He does call out people in class for not paying attention, but that is because he knows how distracting it can be when the person in front of you is playing a game on their computer. For the group projects, he will be very nitpicky with you to make sure you did your research, but as long as you make the necessary adjustments you still get a good grade. His tests are really easy as well. As long as you study the slides that he prints out for you for each chapter, you'll be fine! |

He is funny BUT you learn nothing from him; if you ask him to help you with the project he sends you to his TA, who was helpful. Given that his input to the class is minimal, you still end up with an A in the course!!!! |

Dr. Ibrahim is a very good professor. His lectures are entertaining and straight forward. He is always available via email to answers questions. I really enjoyed the class and learned a lot but the only down side was that there were a little too many assignments. There were 2 simulations that lasted the entire semester with group decisions having to be submitted 3 times per week. At the end of each simulation we had to turn in a logbook with details about every period'd decision (12 periods each). There were also 4 cases for which we had to prepare a report for and groups would be called randomly to present on the due date of each. The final exam is optional if you are happy with your grade. I felt that I did pretty good; however, even if I took the final exam I would have not gotten an A in the class. |

I agree with what the previous person said. He is very approachable before / during / after class. He makes the class enjoyable by telling jokes and relating course material to real life situations. Exams arent terribly hard, but you need to study. 2 projects total (1-excel 1-access). Not too bad at all |

I took him during the summer session he teaches you only what you need to know. He understand that this is an INTRO to Info Sys. class and won't bore you useless info your not interested in. However, if your an Info. sys. major he is very knowledgeable and will have no problem discussing anything with his student. He's easy to talk to and helped me with my access project. |
