A very nice guy, but a super hard grader. Nobody ever gets an 100 on an assignment and he'll always find something to deduct points from.

Grades Prospectus: An easy A The class workload is not particularly heavy for this course, however this means that grades are sparse so you have to do well on the few assignments given. Exams are open note and take home which means they're easily passable if you've paid a vague amount of attention in class and are good at cntrl f'ing and hunting for info from powerpoints. Discussion posts and other in class assignments are fair if you do a reasonable amount of effort. Prof. Jaffe is also extremely friendly and approachable, so as long as you do what little work is required well, this class should not be a problem. Enjoyability Prospectus: B+ (Your mileage may vary): I think this really depends on your personal interest but I felt that the subject matter was fascinating. Lectures can be a little dry if the class isn't the very interactive type as class sizes are small and lecture format is PPT + interactive questions. If you like the topic or even have a mild vested interest certain points in the class will be interesting to you. Overall: A relatively easy and low workload course with some interesting subject matter makes this course and prof a strong recommend from me. As long as you put in good effort for the few assignments are you given, it should not be a problem.

Very nice, interesting enough course but don't have to pay full attention in class. Small class so I recommend going even though attendance isn't graded. Professor says he doesn't believe in homework. All the quizzes and exams are done on Canvas not in class and are open note. He is super easy to talk to. Recommend this course and professor, is an easy A
