This class is not easy to say the least. Throughout the semester, you are tasked with group project. The rubric for those are not very clear, so it was frustrating when we did something for the project, and then immediately got told we need to do better and more. His lectures basically go over the text book. The text book SUCKS!! So long and tedious to read. I suggest you pay attention to his lectures if you do not want to read the book. Also, he tries his best to make the lectures interesting, but the topic is really boring. Also there are quizzes every week on the chapter you are assigned to read, usually after the lectures. Overall, only thing i disliked is his rubric being vague. I suggest you keeeeep consulting his about your group project because he is very very very strict about the way he grades those despite not having a clear rubric. Great guy outside of being a professor though!

Johnson is a pretty chill guy, lectures are a bit boring (being 2.5 hours this is somewhat inevitable) but he brings a lot of enthusiasm. I think Johnson takes this class a little too seriously but this isn't a huge deal. I was not a fan of the exam format, they were reminiscent of the English SAT, that is to say multiple choice questions with two answers that are basically both correct but you need to deduce which one is ever so slightly more "right". In any real world scenario it doesn't matter if you know the exact textbook definition of a term, it's far more important that you can apply them (which the exams didn't really emphasize). The main homework is a big group project that you will inevitably put off until two days before it's due. It is what it is.

Decent class, lectures can be rough though. He's pretty energetic and engaging through the lectures, and they became much better halfway through went it stopped being as lecture heavy and having more activities. This is mainly a group project class, so you need to make sure that your group members actually do the work they are supposed to do. The content is pretty interesting, I just wish the lectures were shorter.

This professor is amazing! Though the class is 2:30 hours long, he makes every effort to keep students engaged and has us do team activities that are relevant to the material itself and the projects. He even in the middle of the semester changed how the course was taught based off of our feedback and the experience improved dramatically.
