The course covers a lot of concepts, and this professor does a good job at teaching them. All lectrues are recorded which was nice, plenty of office hours opportunities, and a manageable workload. Nice guy who did not try to stress his students out with excessive work and tests.

This was my first programming course and Jones did a really good job at teaching the material. The workload can be a bit much but he gives a lot of time to do the assignments. There are only three projects which aren't too bad and a final exam which was pretty difficult. So long as you turn the material in, you're guaranteed at least a B-. The only reason I got a B was because I didn't turn in some of the work. He also gives a lot supplemental material and chances for extra credit.

Really amazing teacher and for his first semester teaching he is amazing. He's a very passionate teacher and knows what he is talking about in regards to python and is very understanding and is willing to work anything out. Lectures have attendance through an in-person zoom link but if you have the link its not technically mandatory. Lectures also have slides posted + Panopto recordings so everything is there if you miss. There are quizzes every week on the previous lecture but every other week they are in person and the other is complete by midnight the day of/next. The TA for one of the sections was so extremely monotone and I could/did not pay attention in discussion. But the TAs know what they're talking about too but can be a bit harsh graders. The 3 projects are easy as long as you know the concept/can look it up since its a very beginner class. Final exam was cumulative with you applying concepts on paper closed note, its long but not too bad. He also bases his lectures pretty similar to a notes page he posts to, so there's different examples and more in-depth explanations to study. There are also 3 code reviews throughout the semester but you are assigned to only one where you have to explain your work in the most recent project to show you understand it, but its so casual and as long as you know what everything does its fine. But 100% take this guy for this class, gets the basic concepts of python pretty drilled in you and he is a good guy and teacher.
