Antony Jose BSCI432 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 12/22/2025	This is a really fun and chill class, it's really baed on you learning new things from the weekly readings, answering the weekly quizzes on them (if you just skim the article you'll get them all right the questions are directly from the reading), working in your groups on a NetLogo "coding" simulation project that is actually really cool to see the progress with at the end. This is definitely one of those "the more you put in the more you get out" types of classes. It's really up to you to do stuff so you might come to class with not a ton to do each week but it actually remains interesting. I'd say it is very important to pick your group wisely because they will be with you the whole semester and hopefully your group will be as fun as the one I had. The class is also open TerpAI for those who don't know how to code so don't worry about that. There are 2 exams, a midterm and a final, they are both short writing assignments, just about a page each that are just answering the questions you came up with based on the weekly readings and the sources you get. If you can take this class as an upper level DO IT, you'll actually learn something, it won't be stressful and Dr. Jose is just a great professor.

Antony Jose BSCI432 Expecting an A Anonymous 12/02/2023	Great teacher with a great class. You get out what you put in but I highly recommend you put effort into this class. Do note that the class is half about coding in Netlogo (it is super intuitive and no one in my class knew how to code prior. This should NOT scare you) and half about reading research papers and learning more about them. Assignments were all fair and nothing in the class felt unreasonable. If you have the availability you should 100% take this class.

Antony Jose BSCI432 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 12/22/2021	Favorite bio class I have ever taken! This is not a traditional lecture course and we get to guide the discussion topics of the course. I learned how to think like a researcher and got better at reading research articles. I thought the coding project was super manageable and almost everyone in the class also has no coding experience either. Such an enjoyable class I would recommend it to everyone!
