Really great TA! Always really helpful at office hours. I felt like it made a difference for me in a good way |

She is a pretty heartless discussion coordinator as previous reviewer mentioned (whom I do not know). I missed a due date for one of the assignments and asked her in office hours for grace just this one time since this whole class is pretty unforgiving as is and I turned in every other assignment on time, and she said no to my crying face lol, saying she would need to make this exception for everyone. And I don't entirely know why there is an issue with making a one-time exception for the whole class like in a lot of other courses where you can submit a day after due date for partial credit. The assignment in question had about a 24 hour period from when we are allowed to see it to when it is due and was pretty time-consuming. Not sure why this intense format for a discussion. This one assignment cost me a good chunk of my grade. The discussion is definitely a waste as it takes away time you could spend studying for an exam but Tiffany made it even worse. I've never once turned in an assignment late in college and I explained to her what happened, but she wasn't having it. Also the discussion syllabus was longer than the lecture syllabus which just shows that someone really wanted to emphasize just how intense this discusison is which I think is humorous. |

Ms. Kamberi is a genuinely horrible human being and I don't think she should be employed at UMD. Sure, these are very strong words against just a TA, however through what happened, I believe anyone who may have to take a course that she is involved in should know. She is heartless. During the year, I had a very unexpected death of a family member on the day of a group presentation for the course. I tried to go there and pull myself together but I was a mess, I knew if I went to class I would be hysterically in tears in front of the class. Moreso, I wanted to go home and spend the time with my family prior to the rest of my midterms and finals coming up. I additionally needed to go home for funeral services and just to help out with my family and grieve properly. I emailed my Lab section TA (who was not Ms. Kamberi, Ms. Kamberi was the discussion TA Coordinator) My Lab section TA offered her condolences and said it would not be a good idea to present and rather do a solo presentation when I am ready to (I was completely on board with this) she then told me to email Ms. Kamberi for her to help me with further scheduling of a make-up. Ms. Kamberi proceeded to email back with a "I need you to show me proof of death or I will give you a 0" Now, I am just a 19yr old and I am not the head of my family, I am not the one who is making funeral arrangements etc. I was taken aback by this sudden and direct request of documentation that I, in my position in my family would not have access to. I explained to Ms. Kamberi in another email that I would prefer that be used as a true last measure considering I did not want to disturb my grieving family with such requests, as well as myself. She then had the audacity to say I need or I get a zero on the assignment. And this was not some small assignment, it was a presentation that I had been working on all semester. The week after requested to meet with the Professor of the class in person, where I had a very heartfelt discussion about what happened and I showed her some images of the memorial my family made etc. She then scolded Ms. Kamberi for the increased pain she put me through during a dark time in my life when that was the last thing I needed. Ms. Kamberi then got mad because I told on her to the professor. Overall... Ms. Kamberi was horrible person to interact with. I hear she is an incoming M1 for UMD Med School, I wish the worst, and I wish any potential future patients good luck because she has zero sympathy at all. Lastly, I don't know if it was a race based thing or I don't know honestly, because some people skipping class (THE SAME CLASS) for a fever was allowed, but she expected me to show up to class the day I lost a close family member. This was something I never thought could happen, it was so so so sudden and her incompetency to be a human being caused me to suffer increased pain. Thankfully the class was not impacted by her and my grade remained high thanks to the grace and kindness of my Lab TA and the amazing professor. If she is the TA for course you are taking, I would make sure that all of you family members are healthy because if something happens, she will make sure to hurt you more. |
