CPGH200 Expecting an A Anonymous 12/28/2025 |
The class requires you to form a group and create an intervention over the course of the semester with outside input from a UMD professor or doctoral student, ending with a final presentation in front of the class and a paper. This obviously means there is a lot of group work in the class, so make sure you pick group members who will do their work. The grading for CPGH200 seemed a little harsher than it was for the freshman year CPGH courses, which was somewhat surprising to most people in the class given that it seemed to come out of nowhere. Angshuman did adjust this over the semester, though. |

Another easy class for the CPGH program. This time, it focuses on reviewing different case studies regarding health interventions in different countries around the world, which includes a once-per-week assignment, as well as two field trips (like with CPGH100) and a short final paper. As always, Angshuman is the goat and helps make the class a layup. |

Angshuman is the man! The class is super easy and required for GPH scholars, but Angshuman is pretty funny and makes the class a little more fun, given that it isn't inherently the most interesting class to begin with. |

Literally the easiest class I have taken in college and maybe high school. Hits multiple gen eds. I took it over the summer and there were maybe 5 assignments the whole time. Final paper was long but definitely doable and that was the only hard part of the course. If you have a basic understanding of public health and want to learn a little about public health messaging this is a good course. Or if you don't really care and just want the easy gen eds, also a good course. |
