He has fun lectures because he's a charismatic guy, but he has some of the most irrelevant, low-effort, lazy course material possible. Also, do not believe anything he says at the beginning of the semester: pro tip. He will change up the second add-drop is over. If you want to talk about his views on freedom of speech or whatever hot button issue is on his mind, I'm sure he's great, and if you want to pass easily (not get an A, but pass), he's also great.. but he just does not care about this class besides to talk about himself and his professional life, and it shows. The Canvas page is recycled from 2020 with assignment and file names still not changed for literal years on end, with the TA stating in tests that they've been recycling the same exact test for 3 years. Great news if you have a frat buddy or friend from last year, bad news if not. The amount of broken assignments is comical, and the fact that they still haven't bothered to change pandemic-era instructions is telling. The quizzes will have nothing to do with the class content. He will state in class that specific bullet points from the slides will have exam concepts, and then those concepts from the slides will literally never appear on the exam, because the slides are made by neither him nor the TA, just some random unknown person, which he likes to brag about... great to know tuition money is going to the right places. He will admit multiple times in class that he isn't there to teach a textbook, which sounds great and fun, and says don't worry about him not teaching and that he'll curve at the end of the year: except he doesn't curve at all, it's a lie that he tells you so you don't get scared and drop the course in the first week and go to a more conventional professor. What he does do is gives the TA who is overworked every single responsibility of a professor and then have her reply to emails weeks late from how much work she has to do and have her decide the grading policies of the course using a Ouija board because he's too lazy to do even that. But hey: you'll get a B+ guaranteed if you do the work, so with that kind of transaction, who needs a professor who cares about teaching? Just say you trust the TA a lot every time you have to do something if you wanna be a professor. Life hack |

Oh Jesse! This professor (if you can call him a professor) is so unique! Sometimes, he’d go off on wild tangents, but honestly, that’s what made the class so fun. You never knew what he’d say next, but it was always honest and real. He made learning feel exciting and meaningful. He always made us think outside the box and cared more about giving us real life experience than our "grade" in the class, but it's still easy to get an A. If you ever get the chance to take his class, don’t hesitate (even though it's late and long). It’s an experience you won’t forget! Learning with Jesse was as rewarding as finding out you bought Bitcoin at $1. Jesse is the GOAT. Long life Jesse! |

There is no way to not pass or not love this class. He is very funny, involving and interested in seeing you succeed in ways that I have yet to see from most professors. I would definitely recommend this class over and over again . |

Funniest and most caring guy ever at the smith school. even though the exams were pretty hard he does a pretty well job preparing you. he gets everyone engaged and participating during class. even though he uses up the whole 2 hours and 45 minutes of class he gives us plenty of breaks. He is also very understanding so highly recommend him over the other sections which are all phd studnets who lack real world experience like him. His famous saying "self awareness is the breakfast of champions" |

Awesome professor, you will really enjoy his class, applies real world examples to concepts instead of reading through slides. Please take him, you won't regret it! As long as you participate and put in effort you will get a good grade regardless of doing well on the exam. |

Long class with the timing but he's a fun guy and if you do the work, you'll get a good grade |
