Amazing professor, and I'll be real he genuinely cares about what he's teaching, including what the students think too. He's very thoughtful with his responses, and he makes sure that everyone is heard in the class. Assignments, projects, exams are all do able, though I will say can take up some time. Every 2 weeks you have these questions you need to answer thoughtfully based on the readings and bringing up stuff from the lecture. There's a midterm where you write an in-class essay, but it wasn't that bad and the grading was very lenient (literally just try and you should get a decent grade). Instead of a final, you have to submit a video presentation. Just make sure you attend the classes since he randomly hosts a poll for participation grade, and also make sure to attend every discussion to avoid losing participation grade (TA does take attendance). The instructions for each assignments are very clear and thoughtfully written. The professor and TA are very approachable so feel free to ask them about any concerns or questions you have. The topic of this class is about the AI ethics, and I do recommend any students in CS or technical areas take this course. You will explore a lot of fascinating concepts and you will learn a lot from it. It was a little unstructured when I took it, but it should definitely get better over time.

Professor Laufffer is a good professor that is able to break down the philosophical concepts in PHIL140 to a level that is digestible to most people. For this class most of your grade came from the reading questions which he is somewhat inconsistent in grading, but otherwise is fine. They are all two points, but you have to make sure to engage thoughtfully in the reading questions and cite. Even if you do mess up in citing/answering, you can generally go to his office hours and ask to redo the reading questions. As for the midterm, as long as you attempt each prompt you'll get at least an 80% and the class average was a 93+ if I remember correctly. The final project is a presentation that you film based on the course, but you can simply screen record a slide and speak over it PHIL140 is overall a very easy GenED class. I will say however, if you don't like discussions that may seem like everyone is saying the same thing but with a bit of nuance, you'll find yourself annoyed.

Great professor. He explains the concepts really well. There isn't too much work, its like 1-2 assignments per week and they are fairly easy. The midterm was an in class essay which wasn't hard either. He is an easy grader and the class is honestly really interesting. Overall, I recommend this class, he's a really nice and understanding professor. Great gen ed.
