He goes into depth with his lecture slides, while the slides are the surface area of the textbook, it would be helpful to use the textbook (which I did not have). The paper in this class are ridiculously hard, it took me a very long time to just decipher the heavy technical biological terms. There is only 4 papers that only needs to be one page. He grades them a bit harsher than Dr. Feijo does and seems to have a strict expectation when going into the paper discussion/seminars. He grades strictly on class participation, I received one of the few lowest even after speaking most of the paper discussion and asking questions so i'm not even sure what went wrong. There was only 2 exams, not open note at all. The Midterm was 100% harder than the final, there was no study guide for the midterm and it was all based on answers from the textbook. Daniel did provided a study guide and some of the questions happen to be on the exam. He also did class recap questions for each lecture which actually is very helpful and the key on passing this class. The lab for the class are not so bad but they tend to be long. It starts with individual reports but eventually will go into group reports so it did take a lot of stress out. The final lab is the final paper seminar where you would choose on something that relates to the class and plants. It is also one of the work that was strictly graded on. I would say though, I have never taken genetics, this class uses a lot of genetics for plants. You would really have to understand and memorize what does a mutant for a specific plant and the effects. The exam luckily did not really that much genetics but did use scenarios to describe what the plant are missing or what causes this function. It was his first time teaching, this has been my least favorite class I have ever taken but I did learn a lot and engraved the information in my head
