As a freshman with only a math background of math140(as stated in the prerequisite), I felt that I was severely lagging back from a technical point of view, and I was a beginner coder. The course might present itself friendly for beginners but it proved to be the total opposite. There tuned out to be an enormous amount of stat, higher order Calc that was needed to succeed in the class Lectures move at lightning speed, so if you are a starter to data analysis, the semester load can get real stressful However, topics were very interesting, relevant , and useful. Moreover, the TA understands this and grades the assignments with a lot of leniency, so there's really nothing to complain grade wise

This class is not for newbies !!! You need a strong grasp of Python and programming even if you are not a graduate student. That being said the TA was well aware that not everyone in the class was a computer scientist and graded the homework's fairly softly with lots of extra credit. The TA was also very responsive to email and tried to help out a decent amount. The professor and the TA need to improve the quality of the homework directions. I wasted a lot of time on homework going down the wrong path or being confused due to missing instructions or poorly worded sentences. If you are thinking about taking this course make sure you have a strong grasp of programming/python fundementals. Homeworks will take you most of the week and should not be done last minute.

The content is really good but this class is strictly made for seniors or super genius coders and don't go by pre req its not 140 its stat 400,lot of python experience specially pandas and ml algos This class is like recaps for experts and since it lacks stuff like piazza it sucks You are expected to understand lot of tough stuff in one day but easy stuff in 2 months . its poorly structured for newcomers
