Robert Lucci ENGL395 Expecting an A Anonymous 10/02/2024	Dr. Lucci is a very kind, considerate person as well as an effective and engaging professor. He gets straight to the point about professional writing assignments and documents and prepares us for the real world instead of sugarcoating things. He has a well structured class, meeting 1-2 times a week in person and giving students the rest of the time for asynchronous writing. He schedules conferences with all of his students 1 on 1, which is really nice because he gives genuine feedback and lets us edit and resubmit our assignments if we've shown we understand his recommendations. This course really helped me understand how to write a successful cover letter and resume that I'll definitely be using for future career applications.
Robert Lucci ENGL395 Anonymous 09/27/2024	Pretty easy class, pretty dumb assignment, you will go to class and he will talk about practically nothing for 50 minutes.
Robert Lucci ENGL395 Expecting an A Anonymous 08/28/2024	I took this class over the spring semester and Mr. Lucci is a fantastic professor. I came into his class fairly confident in my writing skills and I still learned many things in his class, I definitely feel like a better writer having taken it. He is also just a really cool guy, very approachable and not intimidating during his peer review sessions. Having that level of approachability really made me feel like I wanted to ask him questions, rather than work through issues by myself. If you have the opportunity to take his class, take it!
Robert Lucci ENGL395 Expecting an A Anonymous 08/28/2024	Professor Lucci is the greatest professor I've had at UMD. I only took the class because his name is similar to a One Piece character and I thought that was funny, but Professor Lucci taught me so much about life and made his lessons relevant to skills outside of professional writing and English. He is a super understanding professor and is willing to work with you if you have issues, he also gives great feedback on work. Instead of leaving comments on papers, he sets up one-on-one conferences to go over papers with you so that you can actually talk it out and it's extremely helpful feedback, could not recommend this guy enough!
Robert Lucci ENGL395 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 06/02/2024	He is very human and will provide clemency if given your circumstances, as for the class, the assignments are fairly spaced out and build on each other, he also provides one-on-one meetings to review your submissions so that you can resubmit for a better grade. He honestly gives a lot of leeway accounting for the other commitments of the Pre-med students in his class. He is also easy to talk to and encourages a very welcoming environment in his classes.
Robert Lucci ENGL101 Expecting an A Anonymous 05/19/2024	This class was pretty easy with Professor Lucci. He was very flexible with deadlines and giving good feedback and help when needed as long as you reach out. He removed 2 of the major assignments and would give us plenty of time to do our papers. He also makes the assignments very clear and gives you an opportunity to revise and get 100% on the first major assignment. He is very understanding.
Robert Lucci ARHU230 Expecting an A Anonymous 05/18/2024	Professor Lucci was amazing in ARHU230. Despite being a virtual class, he made it very engaging and accommodating to his students. The class requires a lot of reading and writing but it is manageable. Also, he is a strict grader but gives opportunities for revisions to earn a higher grade. There is no final exam in this course, but you have a final 'response' composed of about 8-10 questions, and it's given to show whether you've paid attention throughout the course. Overall, you learn a lot in this class and I am glad I had Prof Lucci, he's great!
Robert Lucci ENGL101 Expecting an A Anonymous 05/15/2024	Such a big fan of Lucci. I took him for ARHU158D and when he said he was teaching English 101, I knew I would take him. Great guy, makes the class really easy and cuts out all of the unnecessary English 101 stuff. Take! Lucci!
Robert Lucci ENGL101 Anonymous 05/08/2024	Rude, inconsiderate and doesn't let you talk when you are meeting with him. Takes ages to grade stuff and even when he "grades" he's just skimming over stuff. Dudes just got an ego complex for an english teacher and on top of that the dude is barely a "teacher". Only benefit is lenient deadlines but its not worth putting up with this dudes drama and flamboyance.

A bit of a harsh grader but does offer revision opportunities for one assignment that you did bad on for a chance for you to get a 100 instead! Overall, he’s very understanding and depending on your ta as well you will have a great time in class!

Robert Lucci ARHU158D Expecting an A Anonymous 12/06/2023	This course is definitely not one that you can just skip through, you actually have to put in effort. However, Lucci is the greatest professor ever! I want to take more classes with him. He is so lenient and understanding and he is also just such a great teacher. He is just a cool dude all around and anyone would be extremely lucky to have him as their professor.

He is very flexible with deadlines and work. His conferences following some of our assignments were super insightful and definitely helped me write better. I would highly recommend him as a professor!
Robert Lucci ARHU230 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 01/19/2023	Professor Lucci is one of the best professors I've ever had at UMD. He genuinely cares about his students and wants them to succeed. He's also clearly passionate and knowledgeable about the topics in class. The readings are interesting and so are the class discussions. I took the class over winter so it was a very condensed and quick but he was still very reasonable about the assignments we were given and he even gave extensions when you asked for them. If you have the opportunity to have him as a professor DEFINITELY take it.

Robert Lucci ENGL101 Expecting a B Anonymous 07/25/2022	Professor Lucci is the GOAT no cap. He is the nicest guy and really wants you to do well. He takes time out of his day to meet with his students and offers zoom sessions to help his students improve their writing. I only didn't get an A because I wasn't motivated enough and was a bum and didn't meet with him enough. If you work hard in his class and show that you genuinely care about improving you will do very well. I hate english and writing but Lucci made it a pleasure to be in his class. For sure take this man if you can!

He is down-to-earth, smart, flexible with deadlines, and extremely helpful. I promise you that no workload would ever be too much. He makes the class as interactive as possible and gives you a lot of feedback. His conferences (zoom meetings) are a lifesaver because you get to know where you need to improve. I dislike writing and English in general but professor Lucci always made it so bearable. So if you can, PLEASE TAKE ANY ENGLISH CLASS WITH HIM. It's worth it, I swear. I can totally vouch for him.

He is very clear about the guidelines of the class, he makes sure that he is available to meet outside of class, and he is flexible with due dates. I learned many life skills from this class, and I do not think I would have with another professor. If you have the opportunity to take his class, DO IT!
Robert Lucci ENGL101 Expecting an A- Anonymous 01/19/2022	Mr. Lucci is the best English professor you could ask for at UMD! He is extremely thorough with his instructions, gives plenty of time for assignments, and is extremely understanding with giving extra time on assignments as long as you give him adequate notice. His office hours are also very helpful and I was able to improve my writing tons with his feedback. definitely look to take ENGL 101 with professor Lucci if given the chance.

Robert Lucci ENGL101 Expecting an A Anonymous 01/10/2022	TAKE HIS CLASS! Although I've only taken one of his classes, he makes the class very easy and its almost IMPOSSIBLE to get anything below a B. I'm not a fan of English and was dreading taking it, but he made classes really enjoyable even in an online format. If you need an extension for an assignment for ANY reason, just email him and he will grant it. He really emphasizes communication so as long as you give him a heads up on things, he will be more than helpful to accommodate things. He grades really easily as well. Honestly, this was the class I spent the least time studying and doing work for but I still didn't have any issues with my grade. Can't recommend him enough.
Robert Lucci ENGL101 Expecting an A Anonymous 12/07/2021	best english teacher ever. if you go to his office hours he will literally help you write your entire essay and he gives redo's on an essay which helps boost your grade a ton. he cares about his students and i actually learned something from his class. he is so chill and as long as you participate or show you are trying your best you will get an A. unlike the other english teachers, he gives us a ton of extra time on all our assignments because he wants us to do our best and focus on one assignment at a time.

Robert Lucci ENGL101 Anonymous 12/19/2020	Prof. Lucci was an absolutely awesome English teacher for my freshman year. He gives clear and in depth feedback and is super laid back when it comes to giving more time for assignments IF you let him know that you need it. Overall a great teacher to have, make sure you ask for clarity if you need it and be prepared to do weekly readings (textbook)
