Kodie Lustig
PHIL140 Expecting an A Anonymous 12/10/2024 |
An incredible communicator of philosophical and ethical ideas, and a very intelligent and diversely interested human being. Kodie will slowly go through any concept you don't understand and is extremely accommodating. She is very understanding of students' situations, backgrounds, and feelings, and goes above and beyond to respect and engage with the ideas of every student in the classroom, but in a manner that isn't annoying or repetitive like other instructors. She commands the classroom and covers classic topics in unique and interesting ways and has a clear love and passion for every topic in her course, and for the ideas of her students. Her passion in philosophy is present even more in her interactions with the students - the genuine desire to hear the ideas of students who may have never even engaged with philosophy before the course is her defining characteristic. |

If you are taking Phil140, take Lustig. If you are interested in philosophy, the lectures are usually super engaging. She normally does a quiz after each subject, but they are graded quite fairly (and don't affect much) She is super accommodating, understanding, and genuinely values the input of the students. It isn't an easy class by any means, but it's one of those classes that if you study what she tells you to, you are bound to get a good grade. Great Professor! |

she is really nice. like super nice. she knows what its like to die a painful death of deadlines. super, super accommodating. her lectures were more open discussions based on the main unit covered, which are really fun. i didnt go to many of them because it was a 9am, but i never felt like it was a waste of my time. she said that she was really busy for finals week and extended the final paper deadline by half a week, huge W. anyway, the whole course is based on elms discussions and big papers. if you hate exams, this class is amazing. there IS a lot of reading so either do them on time or figure another way to learn the content (wink wink). you will be needed to form a lot of original thought and discuss at length in writing. just a teeny bit nitpicky on how you understand the philosophy. |
