Undeniably a cool lady—but she’s been consistently unprepared from day one. Right before the midterm, she said we’d have extra time to study. Then, in the following class, the TA let it slip they hadn’t even finished writing it yet. This class feels like a strange hybrid between an intro to zoology and a cautionary tale about choosing your instructors wisely. The grading? Let’s just say it’s “unique”—as in, 15% of your final grade hinges on experiments that rely more on luck than learning. Anyone paying even minimal attention will recognize within the first two weeks just how disorganized this course really is. Trust your instincts. If you’re reading this, take it as a sign: do yourself a favor and enroll in something else. |

If I could give this professor 0 stars, I would. The Canvas wasn't released until over a week into the semester. We have around 40 pages of dense reading and 2-3 page papers on these readings due every week, due at 11:00 with no grace period (2 minutes after = 0%). 15% of your grade is based on "economic experiments" that they are clumsily trying to replicate in class, which have a large reliance on CHANCE and OTHER people's decisions to determine the number of points you get (so you are only guaranteed a 50% for participating every time, and you might get screwed over for the other half of the points). I have no idea what grade to expect from the class because I have worked hard and gotten very good grades on all my papers so far, however, they only just graded the first economic experiment, and it dropped me by half a grade. Hopefully this trend does not continue, because the work that I have control over has been high quality and I have had to put a lot of effort into this Gen Ed class. Do not take this class if it is with Lynch. |
