He is a great professor! Very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject he teaches, which makes the class engaging. While he can be a bit of a stickler for attendance, it’s because he genuinely wants students to be present and succeed. The class itself is pretty manageable—his problem sets were not terrible, and there was only a term paper and final exam, which made it easier to keep track of the grading. He’s also very approachable and willing to help during office hours, and I appreciated how he encouraged students to ask questions. Overall, a solid class with a great professor who knows his stuff! Recommend as a higher level AREC course.

Took as a general education requirement. 65% of your grade is based on 12 writing assignments each being 2-3 pages double spaced. Midterm was simple and weighted low so do not rely on it to help your grade. Not a lot of room for error and I do not recommend taking if you do not like to write. Content is interesting but lectures were dry and not engaging. TA was responsive to clear up confusion with grading and give feedback.

He is good lecturer and has a lot of information to give about the topics. However, if you want an easy A and don't like writing this isn't the class for you. This class's grades were almost completely based in 10 writing assignments throughout the semester and don't give you much of a chance to improve your grades in other ways.

Had him for both 433 and 427. Very knowledgeable from his past experiences working at the USDA, and would reference past work that he did while there. He is a very easy and forgiving grader, and a decent lecturer. Very respective and always willing to adapt the class based on student needs. Highly recommend him if you are interested in going into the USDA at any point.
