When I took this class, it was Responses to Global Challenges with Professor Margesson. It was an absolute NIGHTMARE. This was by far the most unpleasant class I've taken in my college career. The only 'pro' is that as part of this class, the professor brought in a number of interesting speakers. However, the 'cons' greatly outweigh the pros. The syllabus to this course was constantly changing, and my classmates and I were always in a flail as to what our assignments were and when they were too. On that note, the guidelines for assignments were incredibly vague. Also, the professor was extremely difficult to contact (we were not given her email and had to go through the TAs). Often times, she would not respond to questions for weeks on end. While I recognize that she was working a full time job in addition to teaching, I can't but feel that if a teacher is going to put such little time into a class, they probably shouldn't be teaching in the first place.

I do not know where to start. I took this class in the Fall of 2023 and had Professor Margesson. This was by far the worst class I have ever taken in my academic career. If you join Global Fellows DO NOT TAKE this class. 22 out of 24 students signed a petition to Global Fellows saying that the class needed to be reevaluated. The class was a mess, completely unorganized, and the grading criteria of the class was unclear. The workload was ridiculous. Professor Margesson was absent from the class about half of the time, as the teaching assistant said "This is her part, part, part-time job". Again, I will say it DO NOT TAKE this class.

All of the work was put on the TAs and I felt bad for them at times trying to get in touch with her. I feel as though there was little effort put into the class on her part and then the students were expected to pick up the work. There was little guidance on the professor's part and the TAs can only do so much. The class was also 3 hours too long and frequently went overtime.

I really enjoyed this professor at first. very cool lady with experiences about the world. but I felt like she was way too harsh with her grading... especially considering that she put all of the work and responsibility on the TAs. but when I tried to talk to her about my grade at the end of the semester, I felt like she didn't really care. since this class is part of a program sequence, I don't think it should be this harsh.
