One of the best classes I’ve taken at Smith. His lectures are interesting and his exams are very straightforward. |

I loved this professor. He is super chill and makes class entertaining. Although he does not use powerpoints, he takes his lectures at a very reasonable pace for your to capture all the proper notes, tells you what is important for the exam, and repeats things countless times. The exams are based on what he lectures, so as long as you go to class and study your notes you should do great. Compared to the other professors, all you need to do it show up to class. Def would recommend him against other professors. |

I think Professor Mark was a great professor. I was very scared going into this class knowing that it is held as one of the 2 hardest classes for business majors, but Professor Mark from the beginning of the semester made the class feel manageable. He does not use any slides or graphics so going to class and paying attention is a must. I was originally put off by this form of lecturing but ended up loving it for the class because it forced me to pay really close attention and take detailed notes which made studying and exams much easier. He is always willing to take questions, give more examples, and go over cases. He also will often tell you important things to highlight and says which chapters are emphasized on exams so you can best use your energy reading and studying. I don't think his class is for everyone based on how he lectures. If you are a visual learner I would recommend a different professor. If you are someone who learns through hearing information, and taking notes I think that he would be a great professor for you. |

It is like listening to an audiobook with no images only you have to write down everything he says and if you do not catch a word, you can not rewind. In all seriousness, he lectures to the crowd and you have to take notes and memorize every word. There are no slides or notes posted online, and the textbook is not important. He does tell you explicitly about 1/5th of the exam though which is nice. If you can write down everything he says and memorize it all and never miss class and never doze off and never daydream and never lose focus... it's an easy A. I would recommend other professors. He is probably only better than Reyna. |

I don't know how he has such high reviews. He sits in the front of the class reading from a printed piece of paper. You have to write down every single thing he says, and if you miss something you are never seeing that information again. There are no slides, PowerPoint, or visual notes on the board and there is nothing posted online. The exams are also based off of his words in class, not the textbook. Essentially, if you miss one word he says you're screwed. It also does not help that he is wearing a mask in an auditorium which makes it more difficult to understand/ interpret. His examples are no longer about pop culture and the Kardashians as other reviews suggest. Rather, every example he uses now is blatant one-sided biased political opinions. The only good thing is he does mention some things that will be on the exam, so as long as you show up to class write down everything he says don't miss anything ever, and memorize all of it: you should get a decent grade. I would recommend another professor if you can. |

Amazing professor! Super chill. Exams are very fair, everything is covered in lecture. Just show up, take thorough notes, and you'll be fine! There is a textbook that serves as a reference point, but what he covers is what's on the exam. Book is useful to clarify a couple things, but lectures are most important. He'll also often tell you of specific things that'll be on the exam as he covers them. Lecture notes are your key to success. Exams are very fair, and the arbitration exercise and case study (presentation or written assignment) were basically free buffer points. Loved this class, would recommend him to everyone. And he's really funny too, in a dry sort of way. Great professor, great course. Take b-law with him! |

A really great prof! Attendance is mandatory because he doesn't post the notes, but lecture is interesting and he's a funny dude. The exams are difficult and it sucks because they make up ~90% of your grade. Still, I would recommend him and enjoyed going to his class. Memorize everything and you'll do fine. |

His lecture is nothing helpful for the exam, which is challenging and feels like a SAT reading test. Don't be mislead by the comments from 2011, because Smith core course policy haven't changed at that time. |

Gideon is legitmately one of the best professors I could ask for in law. He really knows what he is talking about and he is hilarious. His lectures are straight from the book so don't waste your time reading anything but the cases. Take notes on your computer to keep up with him...there are a LOT of notes. The exams are right out of the notes and he applies all the concepts to situations with Jersey Shore and the Kardashians. |

I liked him a lot. He is very dry (but so is the subject of business law) with a very wry sense of humor. Pretty straight-forward way of presenting notes, although he does not upload them online. Makes you present a case for a free 10% and then the rest of your grade is just three tests. The tests are 15 T/F and 35 MC which are really straightforward and directly from his notes. Doesn't try to trick you |

Basically agree with the two other comments. Really nice. Very helpful. Really funny. Great lecturer. 3 tests. 15 t/f, rest are multiple choices all pretty straightforward. Take good notes, review them and you'll get a good grade. No need to read the book if u take good notes. His exams r directly from his lecture. He is actually one of the better professors for teaching BMGT 380 especially compared that McClenahan guy. |

The most awesome professor in the Smith school! One of the reasons I actually understand the law is because of his teachings. He is a great professor. He seems dull at first but is actually extremely hilarious! He's super cool since he's into pop culture and half of his examples are from the entertainment business. He make the concepts so easy that as long as you are taking good notes and review them well before the exam you are going do really well. He is very knowledgeable, and genuinely likes to help students. He has to be one of the best business law professors-he teaches during the fall so if you need to take bmgt380 make sure you register for his class asap since most of the seats for his class gets taken fairly quickly. |

Quick to respond to e-mails. Very available to students. Tests are pretty straightforward. You don't really need to read the book if you take notes. Funny guy at times, otherwise pretty boring with a monotonous voice. Make sure to take good notes in class and you will be fine getting an A. |
