HIST201 Expecting an A Anonymous 05/28/2025 |
I liked Conor as a TA for Freund's sections of HIST201. He is a really nice dude and makes sure that everyone is keeping up with the classwork to the best of their ability, even though it is clear that not everyone does. He usually had questions prepared regarding the readings for the week, and he tried to get everyone to share their thoughts about a given topic. Conor seems to grade most or all of the assignments for the class. In my opinion, the feedback that he gave on my essays was not harsh or "demeaning" like the one review says, but rather realistic about what to improve upon for future essays. |

HIST201 Expecting a B+ Anonymous 05/09/2025 |
Conor is a great guy who really cares about your learning. He keeps discussions relatively interesting and tries his hardest to keep everyone engaged to the material. The other review on here is complete garbage and is not representative of who Conor is or what how he teaches. The class itself is not too difficult, and if you put some effort into it, you'll get a good grade. |

HIST201 Expecting a B- Anonymous 12/18/2024 |
If you are looking for an easy A, don't take this section with TA Connor! History201 is taught by Professor Chiles and is an amazing class, but be aware of this section. This semester, Conner continuously acted demeaning and rude while providing critical feedback on written assignments. In-person, he is very nice and understanding, which makes me feel like there are two people inside him. The nice in-person guy and the very strict masters-level grader. Being someone who receives lots of constructive feedback in my major has allowed me to realize how disrespectful his comments are on assignments. He's very strict when it comes to preparing for class, and it is difficult to get a good participation grade even if you participate in every class. Furthermore, if you like it when TAs take a long time to grade things or give separate instructions on how to complete exams than the actual professor, then take this section. |
