Shelbi Meissner WGSS379I Expecting an A+ Anonymous 05/10/2024	Oh my goodness this is a class and a professor who will totally change your life, I am not even exaggerating. The community that Shelbi builds within her classroom is like nothing else. Even through the most challenging content of the class or my most difficult days outside of it, I always looked forward to attending this class. Shelbi's focus on combining dense reading on heavy topics with class discussions and creative projects really made the content digestible and memorable. She also hangs up all of our art on the bulletin board outside of her office or in the Indigenous Futures Lab and it feels like getting your art put up on the fridge at home and it just makes you feel good. I could really just gush about Shelbi all day because she is really just such an amazing person and professor.
Shelbi Meissner WGSS379I Expecting an A+ Anonymous 05/09/2024	The worst part about this class is that it ended. (A quote I stole from a friend who was in this class with me.) Easily one of the best classes I’ve taken. The environment is so nice and I never felt anxious to reach out about turning something in late for any reason. I loved the workbook that she put together, I have already used it in a discussion for a different class. If you can take a class with Shelbi, do. She really is one of the best professors I’ve ever had.
Shelbi Meissner WGSS379I Expecting an A+ Anonymous 04/16/2024	Oh my goodness this is one of the best professors that you will ever have. She is so kind and funny and just amazing. The class is very focused on art and community building as a facilitation for learning about indigenous feminisms and epistomologies. The topics can be super heavy, but Shelbi manages to balance it with fun and lighthearted activities in a way that makes them manageable without downplaying their seriousness. If you ever have any interest in WGSS, de-colonization, or anything along these lines I highly recommend taking this class.
