Makes 326 so much harder then it needs to be. Incredibly boring, but not that much work.

Overall: Courses are relatively easy. He is hard to reach through email, but helpful in office hours. Kind of an awkward guy, makes odd analogies, but he wants his students to do well. He cares about attendance, though he does not keep track. I would take more classes with him. AREC365: I would give him a 3/5 for this course. He is an awkward lecturer so in front of 200 students, the lectures he gave were not engaging. It wasn't enough to show up to class. In order to learn material one had to take notes and pay close attention. Many of his homework answers seem incorrect, but if you pay attention in lecture you will catch the correct answers. He is hard to reach by email, he often takes 3-4 days to respond. Better to go to office hours. Even with all this, the tests and homeworks are relatively easy. Could probably get a B with little effort. AREC326: 4/5 for this course. He is a much better lecturer in front of a smaller group of students. My major complaint is that he is near impossible to reach over email. However, if you come to class, he spends a lot of time (perhaps too much) going over all the concepts, even the basic ones. It is easy to follow what he does, and if you're confused he is happy to go back and explain. If you see him for office hours he will be very responsive and helpful, however you might have to phrase the question a few different ways to get a complete answer. Homeworks can be hard, tests have been easy. He often is willing to go over the homework questions in office hours. He offers extra credit. Not hard to do well.

This course was absolutely awful. Every exam had grammatical errors and missing words. Exams were made and graded much harder than they should have been (some of his "correct" answers were proven incorrect by the assigned readings, but we still lost points). He did not explain well or explain very much. He did not weigh our grades until after the final. I would never take one of his classes again.
