Suzie Muir is one of the best professors I have had so far in my time at UMD. Her class was so fun and thought-provoking. She had us do such fun and unique assignments. In one class, we were able to write a poem about the black experience. It was awesome to do something different and creative in a college course. She is open to listening to the students' perspective. Gives great advice and is pushing us to be our best selves. Suzie is the best! Take one class with her if you want to meet someone who is fun and will give you a new perspective |

Professor Muir is an excellent lecturer. Every assignment is thoughtful, meaningful and relevant. She encourages everyone to connect the material to their personal lives and this helps cement the concepts. After four years of human development classes, I can truly say that I learned best in courses taught by Prof. Muir. She is kind, knowledgeable and truly teaches the class material through engaging lectures and assignments that rely on application of material. She values in-class discussion and fosters a safe space and community for all students. She is clearly an individual who has a passion for teaching and is excellent at what she does. Highly recommend you sign up for any class she teaches. |

I truly enjoyed this class and greatly valued Professor Muir’s teaching style and approach to child development. The course was one of the most meaningful academic experiences I had at UMD and genuinely changed the way I think about people, growth, and development. Lectures were engaging, thoughtful, and grounded in real-life application, which made complex concepts feel accessible and relevant. Professor Muir clearly cares about her students and creates a supportive, positive learning environment. She also encouraged students to reach out for guidance beyond the classroom, which made a lasting impression on me. Dr.Muir is a very good teacher overall, in her class you just have to show up, participate, and you'll get a good grade. She's flexible with deadlines and will work with you as long as you communicate ahead of time, and in all she's a gem to have as a professor and talk to before or after class. She tells many interesting stories during the lecture that help make the content more digestible, and she really helped me through FMSC374. |

One of best professors..she made the course feel so easy and smooth .. she is passionate about what she teaches and that always pulls my attention and full interest .. her class was my favorite she is so funny and essay and willing to help all the time .. would say if you don’t like group based work or discussions then she is nit the right professor for you Overall would recommend her she is the best |

Dr.Muir is my favorite professor by far! The class was easy and didn’t have much homework. We had case studies, which were short projects and super easy! Also, we had a final paper as an exam. But no midterms or anything! I definitely recommend taking any class with Dr. Muir; her lectures are engaging, and I thought I wouldn’t learn much, but her lecture style and the way she connects things to personal life made the course enjoyable. |

I LOVE Miss Suzie Muir. She is easily my favorite professor I've ever had. I took her Adolescent Development class this last semester and learned a ton about current problems and issues within adolescent experiences. Miss Suzie was very entertaining to learn from. She shared a lot of personal anecdotes and was very relatable. I really respect how much time and effort she puts into her lesson plans to make them engaging. Miss Suzie was very supportive of us as students in trying to help us create connections that might benefit us in our future careers. She was very willing to write letters of recommendation for her students as well. I loved taking Professor Muir's class. I would highly recommend her to any student thinking of taking any of her classes. If any university is thinking of hiring Miss Suzie, you will NOT be disappointed. |

Professor Muir has a really engaging and fun class. The assignments are not hard, and she gives plenty of time to complete them. Only one final that was actually a take home one this semester. Three other big projects that again, she gave a good amount of time to complete. I believe that she will not be teaching this class again next semester, but if you have the opportunity to take her for any other class, you should!! She is just so sweet and funny and makes it bearable to go to class. Lots of working with other people as well. Overall a great professor and good class. |

Dr.Muir is an amazing professor and I really enjoyed taking EDHD460 with her! I appreciated how the goal of each class was to apply the concepts rather than simply copy terms down from a powerpoint slide. I felt that engaging in group work each class and discussing applications through analyzing case studies and videos was a more effective way of understanding the content. I was always super interested when she discussed her own experiences and tied them into the course. I truly learned a great deal and this was definitely one of my favorite classes I have taken! I highly recommend taking this class with her. |

Professor Muir is extremely interesting! If you want an easy A definitely take her class but if you want to actually feel like you accomplished something from taking her class then definitely don't. In her class, you mostly just read the textbook and fill out a worksheet and if you don't finish it in class she just allows you to submit it and doesn't take points off. She doesn't really lecture, she just tells stories about her experiences or stories she has heard about. There are only two out-of-class assignments and they are super easy. There are no tests besides the final which is open note. |

Such a great teacher and super easy class. Only had 2 large assignments which were both Prezi's and many in-class assignments. Super engaging class with barely any homework, would definitely recommend it! |

She is such a good professor. She doesn't give normal lectures or lectures at all, which was difficult in the beginning because I felt like I was learning nothing. But I really did learn a lot in the end. She emphasizes understanding the material deeply rather than just memorizing it. Everything is group-based. There are a lot of group projects and collaboration with others. Exams are projects. There are a lot of assignments, so it's easy to fall behind if you don't keep up. Overall, really interesting class for anyone to take. |
