Professor Muir’s class was one of the most meaningful academic experiences I had at UMD. I truly valued her teaching style and thoughtful approach to child development, which encouraged deeper reflection on people, growth, and real-world application of course concepts. Her passion for the subject made the material engaging and memorable, and her supportiveness created a welcoming learning environment. I still keep the amethyst crystal she gave us as a reminder of positive intention and growth—something that speaks to the lasting impact of her class. |

Professor Muir has a really engaging and fun class. The assignments are not hard, and she gives plenty of time to complete them. Only one final that was actually a take home one this semester. Three other big projects that again, she gave a good amount of time to complete. I believe that she will not be teaching this class again next semester, but if you have the opportunity to take her for any other class, you should!! She is just so sweet and funny and makes it bearable to go to class. Lots of working with other people as well. Overall a great professor and good class. |

Dr.Muir is an amazing professor and I really enjoyed taking EDHD460 with her! I appreciated how the goal of each class was to apply the concepts rather than simply copy terms down from a powerpoint slide. I felt that engaging in group work each class and discussing applications through analyzing case studies and videos was a more effective way of understanding the content. I was always super interested when she discussed her own experiences and tied them into the course. I truly learned a great deal and this was definitely one of my favorite classes I have taken! I highly recommend taking this class with her. |

Professor Muir is extremely interesting! If you want an easy A definitely take her class but if you want to actually feel like you accomplished something from taking her class then definitely don't. In her class, you mostly just read the textbook and fill out a worksheet and if you don't finish it in class she just allows you to submit it and doesn't take points off. She doesn't really lecture, she just tells stories about her experiences or stories she has heard about. There are only two out-of-class assignments and they are super easy. There are no tests besides the final which is open note. |

She made the class so interesting and easy! We did a lot of group work in class but never had homework. We had projects for both midterm and final, no exams! Totally recommend taking this class with her. |

Such a great teacher and super easy class. Only had 2 large assignments which were both Prezi's and many in-class assignments. Super engaging class with barely any homework, would definitely recommend it! |

She is such a good professor. She doesn't give normal lectures or lectures at all, which was difficult in the beginning because I felt like I was learning nothing. But I really did learn a lot in the end. She emphasizes understanding the material deeply rather than just memorizing it. Everything is group-based. There are a lot of group projects and collaboration with others. Exams are projects. There are a lot of assignments, so it's easy to fall behind if you don't keep up. Overall, really interesting class for anyone to take. |
