Prof Nelson is amazing! I've taken her twice now and both classes she's an absolute angel. She likes the material she teaches and the passion spreads, her grading policy makes the class relatively easy as long as you pay attention and put in the effort (it's still 400-level English so a LOT of reading, but still). She'd even bring in food and goodies for us sometimes which she doesn't ever need to, genuinely she's such a kind soul. There's no penalty for turning in assignments late but you absolutely need to discipline yourself still because it'll pile up quick, the due dates are there for you not for her. The class is also a little hard to follow sometimes because she'll jump from one topic to the next, but again as long as you're paying attention you will be fine. |

Prof Nelson is so cool and sweet. She's very understanding, accepts late work, and accommodated due dates when we felt overwhelmed. She's also just so likable as a person, and she makes the class environment very warm, which can make the trickier content easier to approach. There's a lot of workshops in class and she makes herself available with conferences that are casual in nature. Overall, she just cares that you apply the content to something that interests you. This was not a class that stressed me out whatsoever; I'd definitely recommend any class with her! |

Professor Nelson is the best! She's so passionate about what she does and is a deeply empathetic person. She won't punish you for late work and believes that students should focus their work on topics that actually interest them. If you have the opportunity to take a class with her, you definitely should! |

Dr. Nelson is AMAZING! Take every class you can take with her. She is so passionate about teaching and it shows. She's a lenient grader, is super understanding so you can ask for extensions and doesn't punish late work. Her assignments can be worded weirdly, but they're still fairly easy. In class, she does a lot of interactive activities, less lectures, and is absolutely open to ideas from the class on what you want to study/talk about. She absolutely made me want to go to class and talk to her. She's so giggly too. Such a slay. |
