Very flexible with assignments and allows resubmissions until the end of semester, even for early assignments.

Course material got difficult towards the end but he is a very relaxed grader. This course is pretty easy if you've already taken 170 but would be hard if it's your introduction to symbolic logic.

Definitely a difficult class that requires you to have frequent attendance in order to understand the material. The concepts are a bit abstract and difficult at first but going to class, participating, and possibly going to office hours will help. I recommend making connections with people in your class in order to study together. He is lenient with deadlines and will give extra credit if the class average on a homework isn’t good. Also includes a small curve at the end. Overall a real long nice guy!

This class is terrible. The information is like a cult--you have to learn it and it feels pointless. Pacuit is nice, flexible with deadlines, and very willing to answer questions. However, the course content is so niche, if you don't understand (esp if you don't understand Pacuit) there's not really another way/source to learn the material from. There isn't a TA and everyone I spoke to who had taken the course previously had no idea what was going on. Also, you have to go to class because lectures aren't recorded and Pacuit posts slides, but you need to hear him in conjunction with if you want hope of comprehending what's going on. Bottom line: if you have experience with set notation and/or are comfortable struggling, you can probably survive with a decent grade. Know that you will be frustrated. Make friends to do problem sets with.

PHPE400 was a difficult course in terms of content but Dr. Pacuit was extremely patient and made space for students to ask questions about the material. The workload itself isn't the hard part but it does take a while to understand, especially if its your first time seeing it. As long as you go to office hours and put in work outside of the class you will succeed. Definitely one of the most accommodating professor's I've ever had.

very nice guy, willing to help and work with you to meet deadlines. However, he's too smart for his own good. Makes the course content a little too hard for non-philosophy majors. Definitely not a class that you want to take for an elective, but if you apply yourself it is do-able.

Awesome professor and a nice person all around, he managed to make everything very interesting and engaged the class well. I will say that towards the end of the class I had pretty much no idea of what was going on but the earlier topics were really fun to learn about. Would definitely recommend this course and professor

Very nice guy in class and in office hours. Class assignments are very reasonable, and he'll work with you to meet deadlines if you have any issues. I highly recommend for PHIL170, PHIL309P, and PHIL418A.
